EDELMAN ENHANCES EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT PRACTICE TO HELP COMPANIES CONNECT WITH EMPLOYEES, BUILD TRUST
Employees Viewed as Highly Credible Influencers, 2012 Edelman Trust Barometer Finds
March 20, 2012 Edelman, the worlds largest public relations firm, today announced that it has enhanced the approach, capabilities, and services of its global employee engagement practice. Helping to guide the strategic improvements for the practice is Edelmans 2012 Trust Barometer, which revealed that 50 percent of respondents view regular employees as credible sources of information about their company (up 16 points from 2011), demonstrating that in addition to driving business performance, effective employee engagement can contribute to a more favorable external reputation as well. The critical importance of building trusting relationships with employees cannot be understated, said Alan VanderMolen, vice chairman, Daniel J. Edelman, Inc., and president and CEO, Global Practices and Diversified Insights Business, Edelman. Building upon years of experience, our employee engagement practice has evolved to meet new demands and advanced our services to help clients develop, execute, and measure strategic programming that delivers clear business and reputational benefits both inside and outside the organization. Edelmans new and advanced approach focuses on establishing and propelling three meaningful, trust-building connections connecting employees with the company, connecting employees with each other, and connecting employees with the outside world. Through these connections, organizations can deepen engagement, increase trust, and positively impact their business and reputation. These connections are created via Edelmans expanded capabilities in strategy development and implementation tools including: connectivity through social media and social intranets to encourage collaboration among employees and facilitate efficient communication from the organization; creative and content development to deliver information to employees through dynamic and experiential ways that encourage engagement and participation, and appeal to hearts and minds; and research and measurement delivered by Edelman sister firm StrategyOne to ensure that from beginning to end each project is guided by data-driven insights with appropriate metrics for gauging true business success.
