MEMORANDUM FOR ALL CADETS FROM: C/CC SUBJECT: Call Down Policy 1. Communication is vital for the function of the B-CC Squadron meetings and activities, and for the benefit of the cadets. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that communication be open within the chain of command. Staff must make themselves available for both their superiors and subordinates, and in-flight cadets must maintain contact with their flight staff. 2. It is the primary responsibility of the cadets to contact and communicate to their flight staff or superior any needs, requests for exceptions, interests, questions, or concerns regarding CAP activities. In order to participate in squadron opportunities, the appropriate staff must receive cadet names through the correct chain of command. If the cadet does not inform his superior, that cadet may not receive tests, CPFTs, etc., or be able to attend activities. 3. Typical call down information includes attendance (who will attend the next weeks meeting, and whoever cannot, why not), promotion needs, activity participation, who could not be contacted, and any requested information due to the needs of the squadron (made in announcements or through the B-CC email list) or flight. This information will be reported up the chain of command in a list format. 4. Thursday before the squadron meeting, flight commanders (flt/CCs) and flight sergeants (flt/Sgts) will coordinate with each other to see what information is needed for the next Thursday. After the meeting, flight sergeants will inform their element leaders of what information is required in the call down. 5. Cadets contact their element leaders no later than (NLT) 10 PM Friday. Element leaders have until 5 PM Saturday to contact those cadets who did not contact them by 10 PM Friday, and will forward all of their elements call down information, including the names of those cadets whom they never heard from, to their flight sergeant NLT 5 PM Saturday. 6. Flight sergeants will make any final attempts to contact unaccounted-for cadets. They will report all information to their flight commander NLT Noon Sunday. Flight Commanders will report the entire flights call down information (including that of the flight sergeant and flight commander themselves) to the Cadet Deputy Commander (C/CD) NLT 5 PM Sunday. 7. The C/CD will contact and coordinate the call down information with the Cadet Executive Officer (C/XO) and forward it to the Cadet Commander (C/CC) NLT Monday evening.

8. Cadet Executive Staff is to contact the C/XO NLT 11:59 PM Sunday with the same information required by the in-flight cadets. The Cadet Executive Staff will also issue a progress or status report to the C/XO of given tasks depending on the needs of the C/XO. The C/XO will forward all information to the C/CC NLT Monday evening. 9. The First Sergeant is to contact the C/CC by Sunday 11:59 PM with the requested information. The First Sergeant will also issue a progress report of overall cadet performance, specific incidents of cadet discipline problems, and general meeting effectiveness. 10. This policy reflects the minimum standard. Commanders and the C/XO may require information be reported sooner depending on the needs of the situation.
