The pleasure you get from driving a BMW is the result of fine engineering always setting the benchmark because it is based on much more than engine power. This is the tradition behind BMW EfficientDynamics. It includes the visionary Hydrogen engine, already used in completely emission-free BMW Hybrid vehicles an intelligent, demand-oriented combination of internal combustion engine and electric motor. And every BMW already includes a multi-award-winning BMW EfficientDynamics technology package* as standard that boosts dynamics even further while simultaneously reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

BMW PETROL ENGINES AS DYNAMIC AS EVER. BUT MORE EFFICIENT THAN EVER BEFORE.
The aim across our entire range of petrol engines, from our four cylinder to V12, is to create engines that deliver both more power and greater fuel ef ciency. The latest High Precision direct injection technology is key to this aim, optimising the ef ciency of BMW petrol engines while boosting power output. The 335i is equipped with this technology.

BMW 6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

Despite these improvements, BMW isnt focusing purely on engines. The smoothshifting BMW 6-speed automatic transmission uses low-friction uids to halve shift times and reduce the drag on the engine. This leads to a more rewarding driving experience while helping to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

BMW ACTIVE HYBRID AND BMW HYDROGEN CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES FOR A CLEAR OBJECTIVE.
HybridtechnologyisamilestoneontheroadtofuelconsumptionreductionandlowerCO2 emissions.BMW ActiveHybrid is another systematic step on the path to signicantly cutting emissions and palpably increasing driving pleasure. The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the BMW ActiveHybrid 7, which will be launched in 2010, have two different drives at their disposal. The combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor with a storage battery allows for particularly efcient energy management. BMW Hydrogenoffersthetantalisingprospectofpuredrivingpleasure,withoutharmfulemissions. BMW DIESEL ENGINES ONLY BMW COULD PUT ITS NAME TO THIS RANGE OF DIESEL ENGINES.
The two key bene ts the driver enjoys with the latest BMW diesel engines are lower fuel consumption and a smoother, more re ned power delivery. The improvements in fuel consumption are thanks in part to the very latest Common Rail Technology which measures the fuel entering the combustion chamber more precisely than ever before.

AERODYNAMICS.
The excellent aerodynamic performance of BMW bodyshells helps reduce air resistance. This leads to better fuel ef ciency and lower emissions, and also works to ensure vehicle stability at higher speeds.

Xenon Headlights for high and low beam, including headlight washing system, LED indicators and automatic headlight range control, provide much better illumination of the road ahead at night or in poor visibility. Adaptive Headlights with variable light distribution and turning lights*, headlights are directed into the bend as soon as the vehicle starts cornering.

Ornamental front grille with special surround and chrome kidney slats. Models with 4 -cylinder in-line engines (3 2 0 i and 3 2 0 d) come with the kidney slats in Black.

Chrome door sill finishers with BMW word mark (only on 6 -cylinder models).

Rain sensor with automatic driving lights control: once activated, the rain sensor will automatically switch on the windscreen wipers when it begins to rain, adjusting the wiper frequency in line with rainfall intensity. The integrated automatic driving lights control will switch on the low beam automatically at dusk and in tunnels.

High Beam Assist supports the driver at night by automatically switching to low beam when there is oncoming traffic or another car ahead, or when the road is sufficiently illuminated.

Lights package with reading lights front and rear, illuminated vanity mirrors, front footwell lights and soft light function for rear passengers. Includes exit lights and vicinity lighting integrated in the exterior door handles. When the doors are unlocked, this ensures even illumination of the entry/exit area, for safe and convenient vehicle entry/exit.

Trailer tow hitch, incl. trailer stability control, with electric unlocking via a switch in the luggage compartment. If the trailer hitch is not needed, it can be folded away mechanically.

Leather steering wheel (3 7 5 mm diameter), three spokes, incl. gearshift lever handle with chrome trim and handbrake lever handle nished in leather. Multifunction buttons integrated into the steering wheel can be used to operate the radio, CD player and telephone (optional) while on the move.

Sports leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons (3 6 9 mm diameter), three spokes, with chrome trim on gearshift lever handle and steering wheel and handbrake lever handle nished in leather, multifunction buttons for remote control of radio/telephone (standard on 3 3 5 i).

M leather steering wheel provides excellent grip due to its thicker rim. The integrated multifunction buttons can be used to operate the radio, CD player and telephone (if installed).

Steering wheel heating for leather steering wheel and sports leather steering wheel quickly warms up the steering wheel rim at the press of a button for added comfort in winter.

Start/Stop button for starting the engine. After inserting your ignition key, you can start and stop the engine by pressing this button.

Cruise Control stores any desired speed upwards of approx. 3 0 km/h and maintains it, as displayed on the instrument panel. After accelerating, the system automatically returns to the pre-set speed. Braking deactivates this function. The 6 -cylinder models come with an additional braking function.

Voice control enables control of radio stations, navigation destinations or telephone entries shown in the Control Display while on the move.

Active Cruise Control (ACC) enables comfortable driving at a pre-selected speed. When driving in columns of traf c, your BMW adapts to the speed of a slower preceding vehicle and automatically maintains a pre-set distance (six-cylinder models only).

Instrument panel with analogue indicators and amber backlighting, speedometer with integrated fuel gauge, rev counter with fuel consumption display (on 3 3 5 i with oil temperature display), digital display for mileage and trip counter, outside temperature display and clock.

On-board computer displays information about average speed, average fuel consumption and range.

Navigation system Business, incl. CD drive, iDrive Controller with direct menu control buttons, eight functional bookmarks and MP3 decoder; 6 .5 " monitor with map and arrow display.

Park Distance Control (PDC)1 , for front and rear or rear only, facilitates the process of parking and manoeuvring in confined spaces, giving you an acoustic signal for the distance between your car and an obstacle. In conjunction with the navigation system, PDC will also provide a visual indication on the monitor display.

TV function. The 8 .8 " display can be used as a TV set while the vehicle is stationary. Enables reception of terrestrial analogue and digital (DVB-T) television programmes (only in combination with Navigation system Professional).

Navigation system Professional, incl. DVD drive, iDrive Controller with direct menu control buttons, eight functional bookmarks, integrated hard disk for audio les and navigation data, 3 -D map display and high-resolution 8 .8 " monitor.

Air conditioning system, incl. micro filter and air recirculation switch, ensures comfortable climatic conditions in the vehicle interior at any time of the year, with manual adjustment of air volume and distribution (only on 3 2 0 i Start).

Automatic air conditioning, incl. AAR, micro filter, fogging and solar sensors and residual heat button, rapidly provides the desired climatic conditions in the interior and maintains the selected temperature. BMW Individual High-End Audio System features extraordinary high-performance speakers with exclusive neodymium magnet drivers that create an acoustic experience comparable to a live concert. Volume and equalizing automatically adjust to the vehicle speed (available for the six-cylinder models).

AUX-IN jack for an external audio device, such as an MP3 player. USB/audio interface for USB stick or MP3 player, upgradeable to support connection of a hand-hold music player standard on sixcylinder. Titles shown on the Control Display (only with navigation system). Controlled via the multifunction steering wheel, radio Professional or navigation system (both optional).

Preparation for mobile phone with Bluetooth interface including hands-free equipment, connection for charger and outside aerial. A separately available snap-in adapter enables connection of a Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone, which can also be operated via iDrive (in conjunction with navigation system). 6 -speed manual transmission for a very sporty drive. Smooth, with perfect ratios and precise, short-throw gearshifts. The tight spacing of gear ratios means that you can make even more individual use of the engine power provided.

6 -speed automatic transmission with Steptronic and ATM (Adaptive Transmission Management). The gearshift mechanism enables very fast, immaculate gear changes for truly dynamic performance.

The gure quoted includes a 90 per cent tank lling, 68 kg for the driver and 7 kg for luggage. Unladen weight applies to vehicles with standard equipment. Optional equipment may increase this gure. The overall weight of the trailer may not exceed the maximum permissible trailer load plus the maximum permissible towbar download. The petrol engines are designed for RON 98 fuel. They may be run on RON 95 or RON 91 fuel (335i: not less than RON 95) with a decrease in engine power. All the engines complies with the EU5 emissions standard. Fuel consumption is determined in accordance with the ECE driving cycle made up approximately one-third urban traffic and two-thirds extra-urban driving (based on the distance covered). CO2 emissions are measured in addition to fuel consumption.
