Between: KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION, a legally constituted non-profit corporation by virtue of the laws of Canada, having its head office at 276, Knowlton Road, Ville de Lac-Brome, Quebec, J0E 1V0. Duly represented by Philip LANTHIER, in his capacity as President of the Knowlton Literary Association and referred to below as KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION,

1. OBLIGATIONS OF THE SPEAKER 1.1 THE SPEAKER agrees to participate in WORDFEST 2011: The Anxious Border Panel Discussion from 1:30 to 3:00 on Saturday, July 16 at Radio Village Hall (305 Knowlton Road) ALSO: Now These Hot Days is the Mad Blood Stirring from 1:00 to 2:30 on Sunday, July 17 at Radio Village Hall, (305 Knowlton Road) And the Peter Gzowski PGI for Literacy Gala at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 at Auberge Quilliams (572 Lakeside) In the eventuality that the SPEAKER cannot honour this commitment, he or she must inform KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION immediately.

2. OBLIGATIONS OF KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION 2.1 The costs of travel, accommodation and meals will be assumed by KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION, in accordance with the document "TRAVEL EXPENSES PAID TO INVITED AUTHORS" annexed to the present contract. All other expenses inherent in the implementation of this contract must be agreed to beforehand by KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION. 2.2 KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION will give the SPEAKER, free of charge, a weekend pass for all literary events. 3. TRANSFER OF RIGHTS 3.1 THE SPEAKER agrees that KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION may use his or her name and his or her photograph to promote the ACTIVITY and KNOWLTON WORDFEST 2011. The aforementioned photograph must be approved by the SPEAKER beforehand.

3.2 THE SPEAKER authorizes KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION to record the ACTIVITY for archival and promotional purposes. This recording cannot be the object of exploitation or distribution other than for the promotion of KNOWLTON WORDFEST 2011. 3.3 The rights granted to KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION by virtue of the present contract apply both to the SPEAKER and to his or her heirs, successors, legal successors and/or legal representatives.

4. PAYMENT OF THE SPEAKER 4.1 In return for aforesaid services, KNOWLTON LITERARY ASSOCIATION will pay to the SPEAKER, at the latest on the date of presentation of the ACTIVITY, the sum of FOUR HUNDRED ($400.00).

5. GENERAL CLAUSES AND INTERPRETATION 5.1 The introduction of the present agreement and appendices are an integral part of this contract. 5.2 The present agreement constitutes the complete and final agreement between the parties, relative to its purpose, and is the only agreement or commitment between the parties. Any modification of the present contract must be agreed to in writing and signed by the signatories. 5.3 The present agreement will be interpreted according to the laws current in the province of Quebec. The parties can address the courts of this province for any dispute which could occur between them regarding the interpretation of any of the clauses of the present agreement. 5.4 Every copy of the present agreement, when signed by the parties, is considered as an original, and all copies together constitute the same document.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties signed the present contract in two (2 ) original copies at Knowlton, Province of Quebec, this 17th day of June, 2011.
