ACARA Web-Based Consultation Forum for the draft Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education

Purpose of the forum


ACARA is providing an opportunity for NSW Health and Physical Education teachers to provide feedback into the consultation process through a web-based consultation forum. Participating in the forum will provide you with; a background to the development of the draft Shape Paper; an overview of the curriculum development process and timelines for consultation; opportunity to clarify any questions you have about the draft Shape Paper; and an opportunity to give feedback on the draft Shape Paper.

The ACARA Consultation forum


The PDHPETA will be joining with ACHPER NSW to provide five venues for teachers to participate the ACARA consultation forum. The date and time of this forum is Wednesday 2nd May from 4:00-5:30pm. The host venues, venue coordinators and maximum capacity for the venues are listed below. To prepare for the forum, you should ensure that you have read the draft Shape paper and that you bring along your questions and feedback. If you will be attending one of the host venues to participate in ACARAs online consultation forum, please RSVP directly to the appropriate venue coordinator by Friday 27th April. There are maximum capacities for the venues so an early RSVP will ensure that you do not miss this opportunity.

Proposed structure of forums


The video conference broadcasts will be 1 hours in length. The structure of the broadcast will comprise: 5 minute pre-recorded video introduction from Professor Doune Macdonald 20 minute information briefing presented by Janice Atkin 1 hour plenary discussion with questions from participants and opportunities to give feedback to designated questions about the draft Shape Paper 5 minute overview of how to provide further feedback to the consultation.
