That I am a deputy prosecuting attorney for Pierce County and I am familiar with the police report and/or investigation conducted by the PIERCE COUNTY SHERIFF, incident number 121211241; That the police report, the oral report of Detective Brian Lund and/or investigation provided me the following information; That in Pierce County, Washington, on or about the 30th day of April, 2012, the defendant, LA VONN WILLIAMS, II, did commit the crimes of murder and attempted murder. On the above date at 2201 hours Sheriff's Deputies responded to a residence in the 15500 block of Spanaway Loop Road South regarding a burglary in progress. Upon arrival deputies could hear a commotion ongoing in the lower portion of the residence. Deputies contacted the homeowner who lives in the upper portion of the house. According to reports, the residence is a large home with a mother-in law style apartment on the lower level. The apartment was being rented by Brenda Williams. Brenda Williams suffered from cancer and was being cared for by her ex-husband, Lavonn Williams. The couple has a son, identified as WILLIAMS II. WILLIAMS II had apparently been staying with the couple in the apartment for several weeks. Deputies were let into the apartment by the homeowner through an interior entrance inside the main house. Deputies immediately saw Lavonn Williams unconscious on the floor covered with blood. Deputies saw WILLIAMS II standing over Brenda Williams who lay unconscious and bloody on the floor. WILLIAMS II'S hands were covered in blood. While still at the scene Lavonn Williams briefly regained consciousness. Lavonn Williams told detectives that earlier in the evening a dispute arose and WILLIAMS II was ordered to leave. WILLIAMS II left but returned. Shortly thereafter WILLIAMS II began to beat his parents. Lavonn Williams was beaten unconscious apparently with a large vacuum cleaner. Investigators saw bloody parts of the vacuum strewn about the apartment. Lavonn Williams suffered serious head wounds but is expected to live. Brenda Williams was apparently beaten with a wooden chair. Investigators saw blood covered parts of a wooden chair inside the apartment. Brenda Williams suffered severe head trauma, was transported to a local trauma center and died several hours later.

Pierce County Medical Examiner Thomas Clark indicated to detectives that blunt force trauma caused Brenda Williams' death. Ms. Williams was struck several times and suffered injuries to her head and torso. According to detectives many of Ms. Williams' ribs were broken. Lavonn Williams remains hospitalized and has been unable to make a further statement to law enforcement. WILLIAMS II has previously been convicted of numerous felony offenses including Assault in the Second and Third Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First and Second Degree, Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle and drug possession. I DECLARE UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON THAT THE FOREGOING IS TRUE AND CORRECT.
