In this stage, you create a form or pattern suited to your design by rolling clay flat, into a ball, or layering.

Use a rolling pin, placing the slats at
both sides. You can make the clay as
thin as the thickness of the slats.

Use a polymer clay machine or

pasta machine to produce an even
thickness according to the setting.

Pull the edge of an evenly flattened

Grate clay, lump together and roll flat

to produce a unique cracked texture.

Cut out the specified color clay

with a square clay cutter.


Layer the sheets while avoiding


bubbles, and press down with

Transfer a pattern onto a piece
of white paper, place on the clay
printed side down. Apply a good
amount of ethanol over the paper
using a soft brush.






Make the surface warm by

rubbing with a finger. Repeat when
ethanol is dry. Repeat twice more to
transfer the pattern to clay.






Lift paper to check. If the pattern
is transferred, remove the paper. If
difficult, apply more ethanol with the
brush. Cut out the printed part of the
clay and place on the base clay with
the printed side down.
