Codex Alimentarius http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=68837.0

I'm curious why there's not more discussion of this around here? In
fact, I would think it needs its own separate subforum. Perhaps people
are not aware of it or the implications of it. With the election of Obama
as president, I suspect the "Union" agenda will gather tremendous
momentum. Therefor, I thought it would be a good time to bring this
up again, and make sure that people know what the real agenda here
is.

http://www.livingnutrition.com/articles/codex.html

The Codex Alimentarius agenda, which has long metastasized in the

recesses of closed board rooms and governmental chambers, is now
coming to light. This is the paramount issue of our times, yet few know
about it. If Codex standards ever replace the current laws in the U.S.
governing food and dietary supplements, it will affect not just
Americans' right to choose supplements, but our right to grow crops
with untampered seeds, to buy pure organic food, and to live free of
the tyranny of Big Agro-Chem-Pharma-Med, through health-destructive
FDA rules enacted and enforced by a pro-corporate government that
cares nothing about our health freedom. In other words, the "natural
health" industry will perish. Now more than ever, we must exercise our
democratic duty and be vigilant in protecting that freedom, the health
and survival of the Earth, and all her creatures and citizenry.

Please take action now and let your representatives know of your
opposition to Codex, to prevent the pro-disease industries and affiliated
financial interests from seizing the total power they crave. It's our
obligation to tell our Congressional leaders to stop Codex and to
protect and promote food and health safety and freedom. Our right to
live healthfully is at stake.

Let us remember the vehement, relentless defiance by the founders of

our nation that broke the stifling grip of tyrannical rule, giving us the
democracy we wanted and way of life we now cherish, which are now
threatened. At this time of mounting crisis, each of us must expose this
clandestine monster while claiming and exercising that democratic
freedom as never before.

The National Health Federation (NHF) is the only health-freedom
organization with recognized status at Codex Alimentarius meetings,
giving its members the right to speak out and submit comments on all
Codex actions. As a case in point, the NHF was the only delegation at
the 2005 Codex Alimentarius Commission meeting in Rome, Italy to
protest the ridiculously harsh Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplement
Guidelines submitted to the Commission for approval. Founded more
than 52 years ago by an array of health-freedom activists, the NHF is
the oldest health-freedom organization in the world, and has been
following Codex issues for more than 10 years.

Codex is not just about nutritional supplements, although that is an

important aspect. In fact, it is the primary political battlefield where the
war is being waged about who will regulate and control the global food
supply, from field and stable to table. This "war" is being waged by an

CAFTA agreement
Special clauses have been inserted into the Central American Free
Trade Agreement (CAFTA) designed to force America to submit to
Codex standards after its enactment by the U.S. Congress. CAFTA was
passed by the U.S. Senate and Congress in 2005. This laid yet another
brick in the wall for the U.S. government to eventually restrict vitamin
and supplement sales in accordance with the "German Model" of
healthcare. Gradually, DSHEA, which protects the nutritional rights of
Americans, is being nullified by these “end runs,” and the North
American supplement companies (along with their healthfood stores)
are being insidiously phased out.

The power behind the throne

Codex is a joint venture between the United Nation's World Health
Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization (WHO/FAO).
The WTO stated that it will enforce Codex "guidelines" as the world
standard for trade in food and food supplements. Both the FAO and the
WHO are intended to protect the health and welfare of the world's
population, but it is clear they have shirked this responsibility in regard
to Codex.

An immense German, French, U.S., and British drug cartel is behind

this. Codex is also working with other groups supporting the following
agendas:

The chemical industry's aim that all animals be treated with antibiotics
and hormones.
The largest seed company in the world (Monsanto) is working toward
100% genetically-modified crops.
The nuclear industry's goal of irradiating all foods including plants and
livestock.
All industries' goal: phasing out truly organic foods, or at least, making
them extremely difficult to obtain.
Hopefully, the facts will alarm you enough that you will want to
immediately contact Congress and tell them how you feel about all of
this.

Actions by the European Union and the United Nations affect millions of
lives. What makes it possible for drug companies to have so much
influence at the EU and UN and even within our own FDA? The answer
is rather simple: drug companies make excessive profits by
overcharging on patented medicinal drugs. They claim that the profits
are needed for research into new drugs. Yet, the costs of that research
only come down to paying the salaries of some lab technicians. It is
well-known that most of the profits are used for lobbying politicians,
advertising, and similar methods of increasing sales.

The powers on the throne

Some 167 countries are members of the Codex Alimentarius
Commission (CAC). Here are some of the international organizations
working closely with Codex in order to accomplish its objectives:

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO):

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
International Consultative Group on Food Irradiation (ICGFI)
Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA):
The European Commission on Food Safety (ECFS)

Codex Alimentarius: Worldwide Restrictions on Nutritional Supplements

U.N. Seeks to Limit Levels of Vitamins and Minerals in Proposed
International Guidelines

Codex Alimentarius (Latin for "Food Code") is the United Nation’s

proposed set of international guidelines for nutritional supplements,
food handling, production, and trade which is now gradually being
ratified in countries around the world, starting in the European Union
(EU). The official line is that some "harmonization" on safety, trade,
manufacture, and distribution would help the world in so many ways,
but a stormy sea of controversy lies below the surface.

The concern is that the Codex Vitamin and Mineral Guidelines are
creating maximum upper limits on the amount of vitamins and
minerals that can be present in nutritional supplements for consumers
all around the world. Anything other than an extremely low,
non-therapeutic amount of each material is to be regulated as a drug.

Under Codex, it would require a doctor's prescription to obtain

supplements that we're now able to buy freely off the shelf in health
food stores and online. Access would become expensive and highly
inconvenient. This would affect health-conscious consumers
worldwide, many of whom depend on therapeutic use of vitamins and
minerals for their very survival.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Much information is circulating about Codex and it is understandable

that there is confusion, because Codex is an international issue with
great complexity. The organization of Codex is 45 years old and has
many formal Committees working on setting guidelines for countries to
follow when they ship food products between international countries.
Codex is a joint project of the U.N. World Health Organization (WHO)
and the U.N. Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), and if it
succeeds, 182 member countries are to be affected.

Health freedom is now being impacted by Codex in some countries.

Sadly, after years of deliberation, they passed Vitamin and Mineral
Guidelines in 2005 that say that for products being traded between
countries, "maximum upper limits shall be set" for vitamin and mineral
amounts per daily portion of consumption as recommended by the
manufacturer.

Currently, there are no maximum upper limits in the United States for
vitamins and minerals because of the hard-won victories in our
Congress years ago. But other countries do not have the same
freedoms or share these views of vitamins and minerals.

The new guidelines are for international trade and do not directly
change our own internal U.S. laws. But the guidelines do show that the
global community views vitamins and minerals as drug-like substances
to be afraid of, unlike our view in the United States of seeing them as
nutrients and safe for the public.

The new guidelines will force countries to abide by the upper limits to
amounts of nutrients to when Codex completes the setting of the

Codex Alimentarius Would Violate Liberty

The concept of liberty as an inalienable right of the individual is a
critical component to the strength of a truly free nation. America was
founded upon the ideal of the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness as the spiritual gifts granted to men and women by right of
birth, not by any human institution. These rights were considered by
our Founding Fathers as something governments have absolutely no
authority or right to give or take away.

Founding Fathers Warned About Usurpation of Health Freedom

America’s Founding Fathers, and many liberty-minded men and women
after them, dedicated their lives to ensure that the concept of the
inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness would
continue as sacred maxims in the mass-consciousness of our nation.
This was done so that we, the People, would value and uphold these
rights as supreme and protect them. And living more fulfilling lives as a
result.

And then Codex Alimentarius comes along in our lifetime, seeking to

forcefully regulate our health choices, and trying to do exactly what
Jefferson warned us about when he said “if people let government
decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies
will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under
tyranny.”

Liberty Means We Have Freedom of Choice Over Our Own Bodies

Freedom of choice and freedom from coercion are two base-pillars of
liberty. Codex Alimentarius violates our freedom of choice about clean,
unadulterated food and imposes coercive measures upon our lives
about the health choices we can make.

For example, is your right to choose non-toxic food upheld when

organic food standards are desecrated by Codex Alimentarius and all
animals must be treated with toxic chemicals and drugs before you can
eat them?

Is your right to choose food free of genetic engineering upheld when

GMOs are used without labeling?

Is your right to choose effective nutritional supplements to support the

individual biochemistry of your body protected when high potency,
clinically effective natural health products are eliminated from the
market?

The above questions are related to freedom of choice and liberty, which
is granted as our birth right, not by the state. Since liberty is ours by
birth, it cannot be removed unless we let it be taken away through
inaction and passivity.

How Codex Violates Liberty as Defined by Dictionary

Let us, using the dictionary definition of the word “liberty”, explain how
Codex would violate liberty. First, here’s the definition:

lib-er-ty
n. pl. lib-er-ties

Codex Alimentarius

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What Is It?

You will see the abbrievated form "Codex" for Codex Alimentarius,
which is Latin for "nutrition code." It is the combination of the the
United Nations and The World Health Organization (WHO) Commission
that is now being formulated and getting its teeth for the New World
Order for control.

Most Americans don't even know what this is or have even heard of it.
The reason for this is because the meeting places have always been in
Europe and kept mostly secret. They maintain a low profile because
they are promoting global regulation of everything medical. This not
only means allopathic (traditional methods of treating disease), but
also the Alternative Medicine.

To control people, you must control three things first:

Food. Catherine Bertini, executive director of the United Nations World

Food Program, said:
Food is power. We use it to change behavior. Some may call it bribery.
We do not apologize.
Health. By limiting what physicians you may or may not see, and
labeling all other disciplines of medicine (accupunture, Chiropractic,
Alternative Medicine, including chelation therapy, nutritionists, etc.) as
quackery, you control a mass of people.

.... and disarm them! Removing their right to defend themselves in

home break-ins, etc.
What Is Included?

Well, the global regulation of everything we just spoke of includes the

following:

Vitamin & Mineral Supplements

Drugs
Herbs

And from this, it will be decided, on a global scale, which therapies will
or will not be acceptable to the various world governments. What
modalitie(s) are used offshore, will be used here, and vice-versa. It is
the same thing they have in mind now for world school control. What is
taught here, will be pretty much taught in foreign countries too. There
will be a universalism of most subject matter.

In other words, if the therapies are not "approved" by Codex

Alimentarius, you physician will not be able to continue treating
you---Kuput!

Codex Alimentarius: Globalizing Food

By Sepp Hasslberger
August 11, 2008

“There is a huge shift taking place in the global awareness in the last 5
years with strong views about globalization and the power structures of
major corporations.”
-David Korten

Codex Alimentarius, according to its website, was created in 1963 by

the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the World Health
Organization (WHO) to develop food standards, guidelines and related
texts such as codes of practice under the Joint FAO/WHO Food
Standards Program. The stated purposes of this Program are protecting
the health of consumers, ensuring fair trade practices and promoting
coordination of food standards.

At first sight, that seems a worthwhile goal. Unfortunately, the nice

words hide a more sinister reality.

Codex Alimentarius is an industry-sponsored international legislative

forum that promotes corporate interests in a globalized market, rather
than consumer health and fair trade.

Until a decade ago, few had ever heard of Codex Alimentarius, which
means Food Law, unless they were directly involved in the tedious job
of working out its standards or in making sure their country changed
laws and procedures to comply with Codex rules, but that changed.

In 1994, the German delegation of an obscure committee – the Codex

Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses - proposed
draft guidelines to regulate a new type of foods that had appeared in
Germany during the 1980s but didn’t look like foods at all. They were
tablets and capsules with what to the Germans seemed crazy doses of
vitamins and minerals. So for all intents and purposes these vitamin
pills – they were called food supplements – seemed more like
medicines to the German mind than the Sauerkraut and Apfelstrudel
which were the healthy foods of the time.

The proposed guidelines promoted dosage restrictions in line with the

recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for each substance. Ironically,
the idea of RDAs as a minimum amount everyone should get of certain
vital nutrients had been introduced in post-war Germany by the
American occupation force but now it was used by the Germans to
resist the push of new generation nutritional supplements into a very
regulated and very pharma-friendly market. After all, medicines were
big business. German pharmaceutical companies had been a mainstay
of the export economy and were major actors in the so-called
Wirtschaftswunder, the miraculous post-war economic recovery of

Codex Alimentarius

TRIPLE DANGER ALERT

To Health Care Professionals or Health Care Consumers

From Mike White, Executive Director of The Optimal Breathing
Institute,
Optimal Breathing School and Breathing.com

I have been hearing about Codex Alimentarius for several years and
figured it hype or paranoia. It is neither. A recent meeting convinced
me that allowing it to continue in its present form is a health freedom
disaster waiting to occur. At this point it can be changed to make
sense. If we idly sit by it will come into law in a few years and become
a world wide health disaster.

Please read on. If you care at all about natural health care, you need to
know about Codex Alimentarius. Begin the summary here then return
to the top and scroll down.

CODEX: WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU AND YOUR

Offline
HEALTH?
Posts: 1,745 By Paul Anthony Taylor

October 2006 – Codex is not an easy subject to get to grips with. Wit
over 20 committees meeting on an annual basis, and published repor
comprising a total of over 1,400 pages in 2005 alone, most people ar
blissfully unaware of the extent to which its activities affect their
health. Read on to discover the bigger picture behind the Codex
Alimentarius Commission's support for the "business with disease".

What is Codex?

The World Trade Organization uses Codex Guidelines and Standards a

the benchmark in the adjudication of international trade disputes
involving foods. It's headquarters, above, are located in Geneva,
Switzerland.
The Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex) is the main global body
that makes proposals to, and is consulted by, the Directors-General o
the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on all matters pertaining to
the implementation of the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programm
Established in 1963, the Commission's main purposes are stated in it
Procedural Manual as being: protecting the health of consumers;
ensuring fair practices in the food trade; and promoting coordination
all food standards work undertaken by international governmental an
non-governmental organizations. Unfortunately however, and as we
shall see, its activities do not protect the health of consumers and the
international food trade is anything but fair.

At the time of writing, the Commission presides over a total of 27

active subsidiary committees and ad hoc intergovernmental task
forces, the main functions of which revolve around the drafting of
standards, guidelines and other related texts for foods, including food
supplements. Once completed these texts are presented to the
Commission for final approval and adoption as new global standards.

How does Codex affect you and your health?

Codex standards and guidelines now exist for virtually all foods.
Whilst the adoption by countries of the various standards and
guidelines developed by Codex is theoretically optional, the creation o
the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 1 January 1995 essentially
changed their international status, in that they are now increasingly
used by the WTO as the benchmark in the adjudication of internation
trade disputes involving foods. As such, the potential threat of
becoming involved in – and losing – such a dispute now effectively
makes the adoption of Codex guidelines and standards mandatory, in
that it leaves WTO member countries little or no option but to comply
with them. Given therefore that a total of 149 countries are currently
members of the WTO, and also that Codex standards or guidelines no
exist for virtually every food one can name, this effectively means th
the activities of Codex now directly affect the vast majority of people
on the planet.

In addition to dealing with ordinary foods, however, Codex also sets

I think this, from one of the articles I posted, sums it up nicely, and for
those who are on this particular board, should say everything that
needs to be said...

Quote
Conclusion
Codex is not just about nutritional supplements. In fact, it is the primary political
battlefield where the war is being waged about who will regulate and control the
global food supply from farm to fork. This 'war' is being waged by an increasingly
tangled web of global authorities, big business and financial interests, and, as such,
trade and profit are its prime goals – not human health.

Codex is the elite's bid for complete and total control over ALL FOOD IN
THE WORLD.

We MUST get the word out about this, particularly to people in nutrition
or even sports/bodybuilding/athlete arenas, as well as healthfood or
alternative medicine/treatment realms.

well, get your seeds now, because when this becomes law, I suspect
that the only untainted seeds will be in a certain vault, underground,
near the pole. And get lots of herb seeds, too, because herbs will likely
become something only the elite can get their hands on.

We'll be eating poison and drinking sewage (even more than we are
