a 10 pin in the final frame opened the door for Asbaty, who tossed the final six strikes. stick firm and change it to a memorial. When the west was still young, so was Pat McDonough, but he remained young all the days of his long life. Family was important to him, and he had a number of families. First there was his blood family, and he kept tabs on them all. Then there was his baseball family, the sport he covered so well as a young journalist. That baseball family included the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Leo Durocher, Joe Di Maggio, and a list of Hall of Famers too long to note. He talked with them, ate with them, traveled with them, and chronicled them. There was his writing and journalistic family. First, with the baseball and harness and horse racing writing fraternity, and then with his bowling writing buddies and all the rest of the media, print, radio, and TV. He was deeply involved and helped conceive, write and produce the first bowling show ever, on TV, more
As Memorial Day approaches it is a-fitting time to remember. "Pleasant memories are a collection of magic moments sown and harvested through the years." And this indeed is the legacy of Pat McDonough, who, although he was but a few days shy of his 90th birthday when he died, passed away all too soon, back in 1996. He-would be 106 now, but remains timeless. A gentleman and a scholar, a historian, a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend, honored and respected by all. A gathering originally was scheduled to honor Pat on his 90th birthday. On his passing it was decided to
May 9 - 15, 2012 than 60 years ago. In bowling he was an all-everything, a bowler, a league and tournament organizer and conductor, an idea man, an officer of all types of bowling organizations. He was a stickler for accurate records and he was a master at digging up interesting and unique records. He also carefully scrutinized material oral and written and politely but firmly corrected and constructively criticized. His Mensa class mind was sharp, and sure. And always, he exhibited a keen sense of wit and humor. He brightened up any dark room, gave delight to many a dull affair, and usually left them laughing, no matter how grim a situation might seem. Pat McDonough was a man for all seasons, for all centuries, for all people. We honor him for all he was and all he always will be. Memories are storehouses of imagination, the treasuries of the past. Pat's memories will stretch into forever.

BOONTON, NJ Pompton Lakes varsity bowler Dillon Cilento emerged as Holidays latest high roller in Stan Niemiecs Youth Travel play. After opening with 202, Dillon drew the attention of players and spectators alike by stringing an eight-bagger, only to be thwarted by a stone 9-pin on what seemed a perfect pocket hit. He finished with 255, the afternoons best score; his 620 set led all keglers and earned him Bowler of the Week recognition. Teammate Brian Rizzi tripped the plastics with 234-599 and southpaw
