Juveniles Commits Crime Introduction


Juvenile crimes are often classified as crimes committed by children under the age of 18. Statistics show that this accounts for about 20% of all reported crimes. This is one concern that should be looked into. There are many reasons why these young people are led astray and commit crimes. The unfortunate truth is that even minors can commit serious and harmful crimes. Young people are often involved in violent crimes, whether because of gang influence or other social pressures. In fact, a report published by the Bureau of Justice Statistics posted that in criminal courts juveniles were almost three times as likely to be charged with violent felonies if brought to court.

A study by the U.S Government accountability office release in 2007 showed that those who are in the areas where poverty is abundant had less option in life. People living in poverty-stricken areas were more likely to have adverse health issues dues to unaffordable healthcare risky behavior and lack of proper education. The serenity of poverty often goes hand in hand with the amount of crimes committed. Money is often reinvented from the open market to the black market to bring about high yet risky return in urban areas. Children who grow up in a poverty-stricken area are will be more likely to be exposed to violence and drug abuse. Since this is what they see every day they will think that it is how things are done so when they grow up chances are they will commit same crimes at those people around him committed. There are also several types of cases that can result in minors being placed in residential treatment facilities for extended periods of time. The nature of the crime and the intention of the convicted minor have a great deal to do with how the case is adjudicated, but there are certain crimes that will most certainly be pursued to the fullest extent of the law. Many of these crimes are considered serious because of their intention, such as aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and aggravated child abuse. Others are considered serious crimes because of the devastating results like arson, kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder. In fact, some states will allow a minor to be tried as an adult if the nature, severity, and the maturity of the convicted party are deemed to be significant.

Conclusion Year after year the cases of crimes are increasing; there are so many reasons why they commit crimes, family breakdown, poverty, drug abuse and sometimes murder. When we already know the reason, can we stop the wrong doings of our precious children; in this case parents also lead them to the right path so that children will not to such foolish things.
