SEPERATION

I. RESIGNATION (I) An employee resigning from the services of the Corporation is required to give such notice as is prescribed in his service contract or in the absence thereof, as per the provisions indicated as under:

ii) Regular employee: a) Executives b) Supervisors & Workmen Three months notice or payment of salary in lieu thereof. One months notice or payment of salary in lieu thereof.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Salary as mentioned above means Pay + special pay, if any and DA. Under no circumstances the resignation tendered by an employee whose conduct is under investigation shall be accepted without the sanction of the Authority Competent to dismiss him. II. TERMINATION OF SERVICE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Category of Employees Mode of termination --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i) By giving notice or salary in lieu thereof as may be prescribed in his service contract ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Category of Employees Mode of termination ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ii) Temporary employees (before expiry of specified period of service) 1 months notice or salary in lieu thereof. Employees under service contract

iii) Casual employees or giving any notice. iv) Fresh recruits on probation of salary in lieu thereof. v) Regular employees: a) Executives of salary in lieu thereof. b) Workman & Supervisors

Without assigning any reason 1 months notice or payment

3 months notice or payment 1 months notice or payment of salary in lieu thereof.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Salary for this purpose would mean Basic Pay + Spl. Pay, and DA. III. RETIREMENT An employee shall retire on superannuation in the afternoon of the last day of the month in which he/she completes the age of 60 years except those born on the Ist day of the month who shall retire on the previous day. An Employee in the executive or superviseory category who has attained the age of 50 yrs. may be retired prematurely in public interest on the ground of his/her being medically unfit or in efficient by giving him/her notice of 1 month/ 3 months in writing or 1 month/ 3 months, pay and allowances in lieu of such notice. The employee will be entitled to benefit which are applicable to employees on superannuation after attaining the age of 60 yrs. IV. HANDING OVER/TAKING OVER RESIGNATION/RETIREMENT OF DOCUMENTS/FILES ETC. ON if any

Whenever an employee leaves the organisation especially on resignation/retirement, the Controlling Officer should exercise proper check and ensure that he/she must properly hand over all the documents/files, booklets, drawings, photographs, papers, instruments, patents, inventions, discoveries relating to NTPC in his/her possession or in the possession of his/her secretarial staff to the person authorised by the Controlling Officer. An undertaking on the prescribed format should be obtained from the employee to whom No dues Certificate is to be issued. This undertaking accompanied with the handing over/taking over note should be sent to the Esstt. Group alongwith No Dues Certificate by the Controlling Officer.
