Condensation consists of small drops of water which form when warm water vapour or steam touches a cold surface such as a window. Moisture condensed makes buildings or surface of products be corroded and shorten their life.

A process in which a solid, esp a metal, is eaten away and changed by a chemical action, as in the oxidation of iron in the presence of water by an electrolytic process. A chemical reaction formula is below :

Corrosion is the gradual destruction of material, usually metal, by chemical reaction with its environment. In the most common use of the word, this means electrochemical oxidation of metals in reaction with an oxidant such as oxygen. Rusting, the formation of iron oxides, is a well-known example of electrochemical corrosion. This type of damage typically produces oxide(s) or salt(s) of the original metal. Corrosion can also occur in materials other than metals, such as ceramics or polymers, although in this context, the term degradation is more common. -7-

The pictures as above show that according to experiment from German air force, one of engines that dehumidifier is not installed is more corroded than other engines that dehumidifier is installed.

Principle
