Student Evaluation Data

I am providing here the "instructor overall" scores that I have received during my time at UL LaIayette.
The evaluation Iorm Irom Fall 2007, Spring 2008, Fall 2008, and Spring 2009 had a diIIerent scale, so I
am displaying the data in separate tables. The "instructor eIIectiveness" question asked students to rank
the teacher in relation to the other teachers he or she has had, Irom the top 10 to the bottom 10.

Clancy knows what she's doing.
Dr. Ratliff is an extremely experienced professor and her knowledge was really helpful to me. She acted as a mentor teacher, and
learned a lot from this class.
This class was very useful to me. The readings were immensely helpful to both me and ( imagine) to students. n the future, will
probably post some of the readings on Moodle for my students. f am ever in the position to recommend this course to a friend, will
advise them to take the course with Dr. Ratliff, who was a great facilitator to learning in this situation.

Dr. Ratliff is an amazing professor who pushes her students toward exploring their own research interests by developing their ideas in
ways that meet the needs and trends of the field. Her questioning techniques gently guide students to rethink and replan through their own
self-evaluation rather than through her direct criticism. She encourages scholarship by having students discuss and write about plans for
the semester's work (conference presentations, panels, publication, dissertation chapters, etc.). Her own scholarship is evidenced by her
ability to direct students to readings, theorists, and researchers whose works connect to their own interest(s). learned a great deal in this
class, but most importantly became far more devoted to becoming such a scholar myself through my participation in the course.
Dr. Ratliff is very knowledgeable and willing to help students whenever they need it. Providing discussion questions before class
discussions is also very helpful. Sometimes felt like class discussions could've been a little bit better facilitated, but other than that, Dr.
Ratliff is a great instructor.
