ACID CLEANER 3 AB

BENEFITS
1. Effectively Removes Rust 2. Penetrates and Removes Heavy Stone build up 3. Low Odor 4. Economical to Use

DESCRIPTION
ACID CLEANER 3AB was developed to remove very heavy oxalate build up found in malting plants. The hydrochloric portion of this product effectively removes rust safely from stainless steel surfaces. It can be used straight on small rust spots or through CIP to remove shadow rust. Because of the hydrochloric acid it is not recommended to allow Acid Cleaner 3AB to remain on stainless steel surfaces for more than 2-3 hours. It is a strong rust and scale remover and may damage stainless steel surfaces if not removed properly. Once the rust or scale is removed from stainless steel surfaces it is recommended to Re-pacify all surfaces with Acid Cleaner # 5.

GENERAL USE DIRECTIONS

For Rust Removal: Wash all surfaces with a good alkaline cleaner. Acid Cleaner 3AB will not work effectively if excess soils such as oil, grease or protein are present it requires a soil free environment to work properly. Once the surface is free of dirt and grease apply Acid Cleaner 3AB at a rate of 2-3 ounces per gallon of water. Circulate at 70120F for 30 to 45 minutes. Check tank after the elapsed time, if shadow rust is present continue the circulation process for an additional 30 minutes, repeat this process until all shadow rust is gone. Rinse tank with cold water, then immediately circulate Acid #5 at a rate of 6-10 ounces per gallon of cold water for 30 minutes. Drain tank and allow to air dry. For spot corrosion use protective clothing. Clean the effected area with a good alkaline cleaner. Apply the Acid Cleaner 3AB by hand, cut 1 part in 5 parts of water. Rub on area until all visible rust is removed. Rinse then immediately use Acid # 5 straight, rubbing on area for 1-2 minutes. Allow to air dry. Note: Both procedures will produce a passive surface. Before reusing the equipment Re-clean in normal manner to insure for food safety. Scale Removal: In Hot Liquor Tanks, Boiler, Tube Chests and other hot water units: Prepare a solution if 4oz Acid 3AB in water circulate cold for 30 minutes or until scale is removed. Rinse with potable water. It is recommended to inspect heavily scaled areas for galvanic corrosion areas. Galvanic corrosion can occur on stainless steel when heavy scale build up doesn't allow the surface to breath. If corrosion is noted follow standard Re-pasivation procedure.

SAFETY DANGER: Acid Cleaner 3AB contains a mixture of Hydrochloric and Phosphoric Acids. It is corrosive to skin and eye. It is also corrosive to soft metals. Avoid mixing with any chlorinated products. The end result will be the production of deadly gases.

Wash after use of this product. Use safety glasses or goggles along with rubber boots and gloves when handling this product. Remove clothing if Acid Cleaner 3AB is spilled on them.
