I. COURSE IDENTIFICATION: A. Course Code: B. Course Title: C. English 17 Literatures of the World Course Description: This is a three-unit course that offers the continued study of literary forms or genres exemplified by selected literary texts from various countries, written during different historical periods. This course aims to acquaint students with different literary pieces and genres. It seeks to develop appreciation of literatures among students.

D. Course Objectives: At the end of the course, the students should be able to: 1. Appreciate the breadth and depth of literatures in other countries; 2. Understand the different literary genres; 3. Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of literary pieces all over the world; and 4. Correlate literary pieces with present day situation. E. Pre-requisites: None F. Credit Units: 3 G.
