Advantages

A very convenient location of the university in Kaohsiung city; the second largest city in Taiwan. Attractive scholarships. Up-to-dated books and laboratory equipments Opportunities for company interview to get job in Vietnam or Taiwan. Opportunities to learn Chinese and sharpen English. Many social activities and festival; welcoming party for international students, moon festival, Halloween, Noel Festival, Chinese New Year Festival and so on. Fluent English is needed. Most of courses are instructed in English. No part-time job in Taiwan is allowed for the first- year students. GPA 7.0 equals Kha in Vietnam Living expenses minimum NT$4,500(US$150) per month (individual dependent)

C. MASTER PROGRAM:

I.

Company scholarship (Take Foxconn as an example) a. Tuition fee, dormitory, textbooks, health insurance, alien resident certificate fee (annual charge), adviser fee, defense fee as well as experiment fee are waived b. Subsidy of living expenses around monthly NT$ 6,000 (company dependent) c. Service period after graduation equals two times of subsidized period. II.
a. The first two academic semesters Type A: - Students get 8.0 GPA in Vietnam University and good performance in interview - Tuition fee and Dormitory are waived.. Type B: - Students only pay US$500 for tuition fee and dormitory every semester. b. The next two academic semesters - Type A scholarship for students of top 30%, Type B for the next 70%. c. Students just pay textbooks, health insurance, alien resident certificate fee (annual charge), and living expenses d. Special annual scholarship for every student; NT$9,000 to 18,000 depends on scores (minimum 70) of the previous year.

a. Deadline of application for student(can be adjusted year by year): - Spring class: September to October - Fall class: April to June - English examination and Interview in Vietnam b. For Vietnam Universities - One week before interview date, the supporting documents, candidates list have to be sent to VERC of KUAS. - Candidate who fail English examination, will not be interviewed D. PH.D. PROGRAM KUAS scholarship (For three years) a. Tuition fee and Dormitory fee are waived b. Subsidy of monthly NT$6,000(US$200)~NT$10,000(US$330) (depends on department and advisor) for textbooks, health insurance, alien resident certificate fee (annual charge), adviser fee, defense fee for dissertation as well as experiment fee (if any) and partly living expenses. E. Application Procedure:

Two copies of study plan in Chinese or English (study motivation, expected graduation year and future plan) 3. Two photocopies of the graduation certificate from the highest educational institute completed (in Chinese or English translation), and two copies of transcripts in English and should be verified and recognized by an embassy, consulate, representative office of the Republic of China or other organizations authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, R.O.C 4. Health examination report (tests of HIV) For Master 5. A proof of English ability. For example, TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS (minimum scores is 300), which must be grade C and above. 6. One copy of financial statement; minimum NT$60,000(US$2,000) For Ph.D. 5. Two letters of recommendation (one letter proves the applicants Chinese proficiency) 6. One copy of financial statement; minimum NT$100,000(US$3,300)
