IATA THREE NUMERIC AIRLINE ACCOUNTING CODE AND AIRLINE PREFIX CODE As per the provisions of IATA Resolution

767, a company may qualify for: a three-numeric airline accounting code for use on passenger traffic documents if engaged in providing passenger transportation services only; a three-numeric airline prefix code for use on cargo traffic documents if providing cargo transportation services only; an identical three-numeric airline accounting code and a three-numeric airline prefix code if providing both passenger and cargo transportation services. To be eligible for the IATA three-numeric codes, companies must: Complete and submit the APPLICATION FORM FOR AIRLINE ACCOUNTING CODE AND/OR AIRLINE PREFIX CODE. Airlines must interline with one or more IATA/ATA Member airlines and must issue their own accountable interline traffic documents for use over their respective services. Alternatively, an airline may qualify for an airline prefix code if it has authorised freight forwarders to issue air waybills on its behalf. Airlines must submit a valid Airline Operating Certificate (AOC) issued by a government. IATA Travel Partners must participate in an airline computer reservations system (CRS) or in an IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) or Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and must issue accountable traffic documents. The Travel Partner must also submit a valid authorisation issued by a government body to provide transportation services. Computerised reservations systems (CRSs) must provide ticketing services for the airline industry Pay the non-refundable assignment fee(s) Accounting code only USD 2,500 Prefix code only USD 2,500 Accounting code and prefix code USD 4,000 (Please note that annual administration/retainer fees are to be paid in order to retain assigned codes) AND Satisfy at least ONE of the following conditions: Members of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or Members of the Air Transport Association of America (ATA) that issue interline traffic documents (passenger and/or cargo); Airlines that meet all the requirements to participate in any of the following industry interline agreements or participate in BSP or ARC: IATA Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreements - Passenger or Cargo IATA Interline Traffic Participation Agreement - Passenger - Issuing Airlines Only IATA Cargo Accounts Settlement Systems and issue air waybills ATA Interline Traffic Agreement - Passenger or Air Cargo Procedures Agreement IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) and issue interline traffic documents Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and issue interline traffic documents UATP Agreement as a Contractor Party

NOTES FOR COMPLETION OF APPLICATION FORM Note 2 Note 3 If your airline does not have a three-letter ICAO code, please contact your local Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to request an assignment. Code assignments will not be made until IATA has received a copy of a valid Airline Operating Certificate (AOC) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the country of registry of the requesting company.

In some countries, it may be know as a licence or permit to operate and may be more than one document. The document(s) must specify the type of service the airline is authorized to operate, (scheduled or non-scheduled, passenger or cargo only or passenger and cargo), where these services may be performed (domestically, internationally or both) and the period of validity (i.e. 12 months from the date of issue or for an indefinite period). A new airline may be assigned a provisional airline designator code when written notification is received from the relevant authority that you are substantially meeting the requirements for the issuance of a licence to operate commercial air transport services A provisional assignments shall be valid for a non-renewable period of six (6) months. Note 4 A two-way interline traffic agreement is an agreement whereby both parties agree to sell transportation services and accept each others accountable traffic documents (tickets and/or air waybills) over each others routes. For the assignment of an IATA code, the two-way interline traffic agreements are concluded with IATA or ATA Member Airlines. Confirmation of the agreement must provided by the IATA or ATA Member and signed by the interline manager (or an equivalent) and must specify which type(s) of interline services has been concluded, i.e. either passenger only, cargo only or both passenger and cargo. This confirmation is to be submitted to IATA (see overleaf for contact details). A Member airline of IATA or ATA must provide confirmation to IATA that the CRS will be providing CRS services to them.
