ACCESS Moldova Report for April-May, 2012

1) Themes to study within Basic English classes. Topics: Crossing Cultures, Whats wrong with it?, The World We live In. Grammar:

Noun phrases containing relative clauses; expectations Infinitive clauses and phrases Passive with prepositions Reduction of auxiliary verbs

2) Teacher professional development. April 7, 2012- all ACCESS teachers and Flex Assistants attended the International Conference Teaching Foreign Languages for Specific Purposes in the 21st Century organized by the America Councils in collaboration with the Academy of Economic Sciences from Moldova. . April, 18- ACCESS program in collaboration with American Language Center from Moldova organized a workshop on Sharing ALC and ACCESS Experience: achievements, challenges and future perspectives where participated ALC Instructors and ACCESS teachers and assistants. Each site(teacher and assistant presented shortly their students groups, challenges they meet and achievements. There were set priorities for future collaboration of these 2 programs. May, 12- ACCCESS teachers participated to APLE Conference Innovations and Challenges in Teaching English. Two teachers delivered presentations on topics: Self-Esteem Activities to Motivate Teenagers in Virtual/Face-to-Face EFL Classes (Olga Morozan) and Communicative Games in EFL classes (Corina Ceban) 3) iEARN activity. a) ACCESS sites received postal packages from other iEARN members within the cycle: Me and My Community ( Slovenia, Russia and Serbia)

2) sending packages about Moldova to Slovenian and Russian iEARN groups.
