About Inter national Youth For um Seliger

Social conflicts and political upheavals, environmental catastrophes and natural disasters, human rights violation and terrorism have proven that the era of globalization does not only mean prosperity and wealth. Konflik sosial dan pergolakan politik, bencana lingkungan, pelanggaran hak asasi manusia serta terorisme telah membuktikan bahwa era globalisasi tidak hanya berdampak pada kesejahteraan dan kebahagiaan. Given that it is youth that falls into the risky zone being at the same time the most active community, the International Youth Forum Seliger 2012 is to become a mechanism for uniting young people from all over the world regardless of their social status, ethnic background, political views and religion. Dalam kondisi seperti ini, pemuda masuk ke dalam zona yang rawan. Youth Forum Seliger 2012 menjadi mekanisme untuk menyatukan pemuda dari seluruh dunia tanpa memandang status sosial, latar belakang budaya, pandangan politik dan agama. The main goal of the Forum is to build international youth community based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, personal and democratic liberties promotion and cultural diversity recognition. Tujuan utama dari forum adalah membangun komunitas pemuda internasional berbasis pada prinsip koeksistensi perdamaian, kampanye kebebasan pribadi dan demokratis serta pengenalan keragaman budaya.

In order to achieve this goal the organizers have set a number of objectives, including:

empower international youth and enable them to have greater say in globalizing world; encourage young people to find solutions to global challenges: poverty, social conflicts, environment deterioration; foster youth cooperation worldwide in social, political and economic life both at national and international level; give the participants real opportunities to put their leadership skills into practice; provide help in team building and fundraising;

show the main trends and tendencies of the global business, science, culture, mass media, NGOs communities; acquaint with highly qualified specialists ready to transform the idea into a working project. We stay committed to the idea of forming an active social position among international youth. Thus putting into practice the objectives above will help strengthening youth social consciousness as well as reach the main goal of the Forum.

Who we need: 1000 young leaders of different background, student/graduates from the universities worldwide as well as professionals highly motivated to make changes on the global scale (NOTE: age restrictions apply: 18 30 years). Social and/or political experience is required (e.g. NPO foundation/management; social projects activities; student union/local authority experience). The participants we seek are young talented and creative individuals full of new ideas and ready to contribute to the benefit of the international community. Educational program
Educational program of the Forum is aimed at demonstrating contemporary trends of the world and international community development as well as at

showing the future leaders possible ways to influence these processes and strengthen their position. Within the educational program we make special emphasis on developing skills and knowledge that participants might personally need to embody their leadership potential in the future. International Youth Forum Seliger seeks to deliver cutting-edge training and insights across a range of courses within the four blocks: Politics and International Relations Developing Civil Society and Environmental Policies Innovation and Enterprise Creative Media and Public Relations Our week-long education program is designed to meet the challenges of the modern world. Using our experience as a platform for international youth community formation Forum Seliger 2012 will provide you with the intellectual resources to build on working on your projects now and in the future.

This year the Forum participants will have unique opportunity to compose their own schedule by choosing the classes they want to take part in from the list provided (full list of classes will be available later). Details of the 2012 Program will be finalized and published on this site at the beginning of June, with applications closing on May 20th, 2012.

Histor y
Since 2005 Youth Forum Seliger has been a platform for active and involved youth from all over Russia. In 2010 the Forum has become international giving warm welcome to young leaders from other countries. The idea of a unique educational eco-camp in Russian woods has been instantly spread in the Internet and worldwide social networks and attracted attention of hundreds of students from all over the world. Sejak 2005 Youth Forum Seliger telah menjadi kerangka bagi pemuda yang aktif berpartisipasi dalam berbagai kegiatan di Rusia. Pada tahun 2010 Forum Seliger berkembang menjadi forum internasional yang memberikan feedback positif bagi pemimpim muda dari negara-negara lainnya. Ide unik berupa perkemahan edukasi di hutan kayu Rusia telah tersebar luas di internet dan menarik perhatian ratusan mahasiswa dari seluruh dunia.

More than 750 people (out of 1500 the total number of participants in 2010) from over 80 countries have attended the First International Youth Forum Seliger in 2010. In 2011 the Forum has undergone sufficient changes. It was decided to involve world known experts and teacher to give lectures and master classes. The 2011 appealing educational program enabled to get a much greater number of candidates than expected: the statistics showed 4,5 people per place. International Youth Forum Seliger 2011 has united more than 700 people from 90 countries. 2012 will be an important landmark for the evolution of the Forum. Again the Organizing Committee have worked on improving the structure, involving highly experienced and well known specialists and offering greater opportunities for every participant.
