EXT. TIMMY'S BUS STOP - DAY

The BUS is pulling away as TIMMY rushes for it.

TIMMY
No! Wait!

CLOSE ON TIMMY, who suddenly finds himself unable to move forward. WIDEN: FRANCIS
has him by the back of the shirt.

FRANCIS
Bark like a wiener dog and I won't make your face
hurt, Turner.

TIMMY
<barking for his life>

FRANCIS
That's not a wiener dog. That's a Norwegian
elkhound.

Francis clenches his fist. Timmy gulps as we...

WIPE TO:

INT. CROCKER'S CLASS – LATER

PAN FROM THE CHALKBOARD where it says "TEST TODAY!" to CROCKER, at his desk,
where Timmy -- now with a BLACK EYE -- hands him his completed TEST. Crocker grades
it instantly.

CROCKER
Heh. Good news, Turner! You've taken "F" to a
new level! I'm going to give you a "Super F!"

As Crocker gives him a Super F, Timmy does a slow burn.

WIPE TO:

EXT. LITTLE LEAGUE PRACTICE

ANGLE ON Timmy, still with one black eye, is at the PLATE. His TEAMMATES are out in
the field. The COACH is nearby. Timmy whiffs at a pitch.

COACH
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 4

Keep your eye on the ball, Turner!

TIMMY
I can't! It's all swollen!

COACH
Then use the other one! Because we're not
leaving till you hit something!

ON TIMMY: lots of rapid-fire PITCHES <zing> by; Timmy misses each in a

different pathetic way. During this, NIGHT QUICKLY FALLS, then THE SUN
RISES AGAIN. Timmy falls over in exhaustion.

FORMER ANGLE – the outfield now has little TENTS on all the players'
positions.

COACH
Francis! Get in there and hit something!

Francis lumbers into scene with his fist clenched.

FRANCIS
You wait your whole life to hear those words.

TIMMY
<yelps like a Norwegian elkhound>

WIPE TO:

INT. TIMMY'S HOUSE – EVENING

ON FRONT DOOR - Timmy -- with TWO BLACK EYES -- stands next to VICKY
as MOM and DAD walk out the door.

MOM
Well, we're off to read bedtime stories to
underprivileged, dyslexic dolphins!

DAD
We're going to read "The Little Dolphin Who
Cried...(makes a long, squeaky dolphin noise)".

MOM
Have fun, you two!

VICKY
Oh, don't worry, we're gonna redefine fun!
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 5

TIMMY
But I'm all out of eyes to blacken...

<Door slam> Vicky grabs Timmy and drags him off with an evil grin.

QUICK MONTAGE OF TIMMY - CARTOON FRIENDLY - TORTURE!

In quick cuts, we see Vicky...

• Using Timmy's teeth as a can opener.

• Hanging him on the LAUNDRY LINE.

• Making Timmy give her a pedicure. Smelly feet!!

WIPE TO:

INT. TIMMY'S ROOM - LATER - ON THE FISHBOWL

WANDA AND COSMO - as fish - play CARDS.

WANDA
Do you have any threes?

Cosmo looks. He doesn't.

COSMO
Nope.

He waves his wand and his whole hand becomes threes. He hands 'em over.

COSMO
Now I do!

VICKY (O.S.)
BED!!!

Timmy kicks the door open. With TWO BLACK EYES, he looks like hell.

WANDA
Hey, Hon! Tough day?

COSMO
Or are those the two black eyes of a job well
done?
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 6

Timmy collapses on the bed.

TIMMY
Today was horrifying...

Timmy flicks on his VIDEO GAME PLAYER.

TIMMY
And I could have avoided all of it! If I'd been on
time this morning, I would've missed Francis! And
if Francis hadn't knocked me silly, I could've aced
that test!

WANDA
And that black eye made it impossible to hit
in baseball practice!

TIMMY
Exactly!

ON TV SCREEN – Timmy plays his game, and suddenly Timmy's character dies - <GAME
SFX>. Cosmo and Wanda stand near the game console as Timmy's hand enters and hits
the clearly-marked "RESET" BUTTON.

TIMMY
It's too bad LIFE doesn't have a reset button.

WANDA
What do you mean, Timmy?

TIMMY
If life had a resent button, I could just reset it,
and start my day back at the beginning!

WANDA
Yes, but...

TIMMY
Hey! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

COSMO
Never cook bacon with your shirt off?

LONG PAUSE

TIMMY AND WANDA

Ewww!
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 7

TIMMY
No... I wish my life had a reset button!

WANDA raises her wand and aims it at Cosmo - POOF!

TIMMY'S POV – he lifts his arm to look at the new COSMO "DIGITAL RESET
WATCH" on his wrist.

WANDA
There! A Cosmo Do-over watch!

COSMO
Whoever wears me can re-do any event!

Wanda demonstrates how to set "The Cosmo Watch."

WANDA
Whenever you don't like how something turns
out, just set the watch back the amount of
time you want to go back. Then hit the
button and...presto!

TIMMY
Cool! Lemme try! Let's go back...two
minutes!

Timmy carefully sets back The Cosmo Watch. He hits the button

COSMO
Re do!

("RE DO" WILL SIGNIFY ACTIVATING THE WATCH FROM HERE ON)

Timmy hits the button.

COSMO

Timmy hits the button.

Wanda stops Timmy before he can hit the button again.

WANDA
No!

TIMMY
I said two minutes, not two seconds!

COSMO
(panting) So... sorry...

WANDA
Go easy, Honey. This trick is tough, and takes
a lot of magic.

TIMMY
Then maybe I need to really test it.

COSMO
(still panting) Let me... put my...lungs back...
in my...chest...

TIMMY

Shhh!

Francis walks by again. Timmy concentrates, rears back, throws and...

TIMMY'S POV - as the balloon finally hits...Francis!

TIMMY
I did it! I Nailed Francis!!!

QUICK CUTS - TWO KIDS stop walking. A BIRD stops singing. A MAN on his front lawn is
holding a running HOSE; the WATER stops flowing. The Earth stops spinning. FRANCIS
glares at Timmy, VEINS popping out on his forehead. He charges. Timmy calmly keeps
his finger on his reset watch.

INTERCUT Charging Francis, Calm Timmy; Francis, Timmy, as Francis gets

closer, winding up a punch.

who is a PENCIL in his pocket.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. LITTLE LEAGUE PRACTICE - LATER

A "SUCCESSFUL" VERSION OF THE EARLIER BATTING PRACTICE: lots of rapid-fire pitches

<zing> in, and Timmy nails each in a different amazing way, with a <RE DO!> after
each. He hits 'em left-handed, with his eyes closed, using his feet. When he's done, the
coach runs in, ecstatic.

COACH
Amazing! And what better way to show our
adoration by having Francis give you a piggy
back ride home?

FRANCIS
Huh?

WIPE TO:

EXT. TIMMY'S HOUSE - EVENING

Francis, slinks away bee-stung (from before) and hunchbacked. Timmy, with
Cosmo still on his wrist, waves good bye. Cosmo's completely exhausted.
Wanda pops in.

TIMMY
Wow! I'm gonna redo everything for the rest

WANDA
I dunno, Timmy. Cosmo looks horrible!

COSMO
(woozy, delirious) No... it's okay... I can do

TIMMY
And I'm going to redefine your redefinition...

QUICK MONTAGE OF TIMMY TORTURE THAT'S NOW...VICKY TORTURE!

In quick cuts, we see Vicky...

Vicky tries to use Timmy's teeth as a can opener but this time, when she
opens the can, spring-loaded PLASTIC SNAKES pop out!

COSMO
Re do!

She's hanging Timmy on the laundry line, but this time as she scoots Timmy across the
bottom line, there's a PIE attached the top side of the clothes line. WHAP! It smacks
Vicky in the side of the face.

COSMO
Re floo!

∗ Next, she's hit by a BEE-HIVE.

VICKY
AAAA!

COSMO
Flee Floo!

Timmy gives Vicky her a pedicure with one hand, while he fills her shoes with GLUE and
glues them to the floor with the other hand.

TIMMY
All done, Bubble Butt!

COSMO
Blee bloo.

VICKY
Why you, soon to be dead boy, I'm gonna-

Timmy runs away. Vicky jumps in her shoes to give chase, but they won't
move and she just falls forward on her face. Timmy, of course, finds this
amusing to no end.

TIMMY
Victory is sweet! But repeated victories are
awesome!

COSMO
(woozy) And tiring! Can we take a break?

Timmy looks at the Cosmo watch.

TIMMY
Yeah, it's time for me to get ready for bed,
anyway.

INT. TIMMY'S BEDROOM – MOMENTS LATER

Timmy takes off the exhausted Cosmo watch and goes to his bathroom with
Wanda to wash up. Vicky, shoes still glued to pieces of FLOORBOARDS,
clomps into frame.

VICKY
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 17

All right, Twerp, it's payback time.

COSMO
(dozing off) Twirpy-dirp... snirp.

VICKY
And speaking of time, I'll start by taking your
talking watch.

Vicky grabs the Cosmo watch and walks away fiddling with it.

COSMO
Wha- Hey! That tickles! Re do!

REDO JUST THAT MOMENT!

Vicky's checking out the watch.

VICKY
And speaking of time, I'll start by taking your
stupid talking watch.

She stops in her tracks.

VICKY
Whoa! That was weird! Deja Vu!

She exits. Timmy and Wanda sneak in from the bathroom.

TIMMY
Wanda! What are we gonna do? What if she
accidentally--

COSMO (O.S.)
Re do.

TIMMY AND WANDA

Uh-oh

SMASH CUT TO:

REDO (SLIGHTLY-ALTERED) TIMMY TORTURE MONTAGE!

Soon Timmy's redoing all his torture, reliving his moments of terror in new
and interesting ways.
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 18

Back to using Timmy's teeth as a can opener: the moment when Timmy's
teeth sink into the can repeats three times. This time it's a can of "Super
Strong Sardines." Vicki gets a short partial comment in each time.

VICKY
This / seems / familiar

Timmy, on the clothes line, gets hit with the pie. Timmy bends over to give
Vicky her pedicure, she drops sardines down the back of his pants.

VICKY
Oh, Mr. Whiskers!

MR. WHISKERS walks in, takes one sniff and leaps for Timmy's butt!! Timmy
makes a run for the front door! He opens it to find a jillion and five cats
waiting for him. He turns to run-

WIDE ON THE TURNER HOME as it bounces around like crazy, as the cats
chase Timmy around inside.

CATS (O.S.)
Mroww!! FFfft!! MRroooww!

Timmy bounces outside, covered head-to-toe in cats!

CATS
Mrrrow!!! FFft!!!

VICKY
I'm enjoying all this so much, it seems as though
I've done it all before!

TIMMY
<repeated yelps of pain!>

Vicky, still studying the watch, looks at Timmy.

VICKY
That sounds like a Norwegian Elkhound!

Vicky walks into the house. Wanda turns into a FIRE HOSE and douses the
cats AND Timmy. The cats sulk off, wet and pissed.

TIMMY
Wanda! You gotta make it so Vicky can't use
the watch!
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 19

WANDA
I can't - whoever wears the watch is in
control!

INT. HOUSE - ON VICKY LOOKING OUT THE FRONT WINDOW – Timmy's

parents drive up. Vicky reacts in alarm.

VICKY
What are they doing home?

Timmy runs in and looks around. The house is a total mess!!! Mom and Dad
ENTER and drop their THINGS in surprise.

PAN, MOM AND DAD'S POV - The house is a complete shambles!

MOM
What happened here?

DAD
Did you let a jillion cats chase our son while
he ran through this house with sardines in his
pants??

VICKY
Uh... yes?

DAD
You are so fired!

COSMO
Yippee!

VICKY
Shhh!

Vicky hits the watch to shut Cosmo up.

COSMO
Re do!

SMASH CUT TO:

MOM

Vicky looks at the watch, and realizes what has happened.

VICKY
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 20

Uh...Timmy held a professional cat wrestling

tournament after you left! He called it Cat
Slam Three!

DAD
Son, how many times have I warned you about
staging pay per view events when your mother
and I are not home? That's hilarious and a great
money making idea! I'm raising your allowance.

VICKY
Guess again!

COSMO
ReDo!

FLIP BACK!

DAD
That's not funny and a poor fiscal decision!
You're grounded for a week!

REDO

DAD
A month!

REDO

DAD

grounded the rest of your life!

DISSOLVE TO:

INT. TIMMY'S ROOM - ON TIMMY and WANDA

TIMMY
Oh, man! She's figured out how the watch works! If
I don't get it back, I'm toast!

WANDA
Next time, you should make sure gadgets like
that only work for you.

She turns into CURTAINS.

TIMMY
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 21

Wait! "Next time!" That's it!

Wanda, I wish you were a reset watch!

Wanda coughs, i.e. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

TIMMY
...that only works for me!

WANDA waves her wand: POOF! She sits on his wrist.

TIMMY
Now, I'll just re-do the part where Vicky took
my Cosmo watch.

INT. BATHROOM

Timmy flashes in. Vicky's already there wearing the Cosmo watch.

VICKY/TIMMY
Hey! What are you doing here?

She uses her watch. REDO!

pedicure.

TIMMY
Not this time.

He uses his watch. REDO. He is still in the living room but now Vicky is just

she can redo things just as fast as I do!

gone.

TIMMY
Darn it!

INT. TURNER HOUSE

Vicky pops in. Timmy is there.

VICKY
Give it up, Twerp. I am going to torture you
forever with my amazing "Do it Over" watch.

COSMO
Must sleep before big game.

TIMMY
(holding up his watch)
Dream on! You have last year's model. Your
batteries are already going out! My new improved
model's got an atomic battery that never runs
down and... uh is made of twenty-nine carat gold
and... um... Is-

VICKY
Already on my wrist.

Sure enough Vicky has the watch on.

VICKY
Psyche!
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 23

COSMO
Ow!

VICKY
Catch ya later, Twerp!

She tosses the Cosmo watch into the TRASH CAN and runs out.

COSMO
Hey! Come back with my wife!

Timmy rescues Cosmo from the trash.

TIMMY
Don't worry, Cosmo! The Wanda watch doesn't
work on anyone but me. Do you think you can
focus for one more re-do?

COSMO
(out of it) Whatever you need General
Eisenhower! Count Von Zeppelin...
Bartholemew J.

TIMMY
Close enough. I want to reset back to the
time when I asked for the reset watch. That
way, I can prevent this whole crazy day from
ever happening.

INT. TIMMY'S BEDROOM – FROM BEFORE

Timmy loses at his video game.

TIMMY
If life had a resent button, I could just reset it, and
start my day back at the beginning!

WANDA
Yes, but...

TIMMY
Hey! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

COSMO AND WANDA

No!
The Fairly OddParents: “Deja Vu" final script by Tracy Berna and Jack Thomas 8.15.01 24

TIMMY
Good! Neither am I! Whew! I am glad that is
over.

WANDA
Me too, Sweetie. But at least you learned that
instead of wishing your mistakes undone, it's
better to learn from them.

COSMO
Don't I know it. Let's celebrate! I know the
perfect thing.

He poofs up a SIZZLING PAN of FRYING BACON on a STOVE and poofs off his
shirt.

COSMO
Who... Ow.. wants... Ow... bacon?

Wanda shakes her head as Cosmo keeps getting burned by bacon grease
and Timmy goes back to his game.
