INSTRUCTIONS
..

1. Remove both turn signals and handrail.

2. Attach bracket 'A' to shock mount-leave
bracket 4800-13 attached to bracket' A'.
3. 'Attach brackets 'B' and 'c' to handrail mount-
ing stud using the spacer first, then 'B' and
then 'c' on the outside. Use the 8mmx35mm
bolt furnished. Do not unbolt bracket 4800-20.
4. 'King' size bag mounting is illustrated. For
'Standard' size bags, invert bracket 'B', relocate
bracket 4800-20 to other holes in 'B' and 'C'.
5. Attach clamp '0' and bracket 'E' to exhaust
pipe tip as far forward as possible. Note: There
is a right and left hand bracket 'E'.

holes in bracket 4800-13. jMake sure c>r;lts,
washers, etc. are used as ..

7. Bracket 4800-30 attaches under bag and con-
nects brack.its 'E' and 4800-20 to bag. Dr(}wing
illustrates 'King' size installation. For 'Stand-
ard' size bags, use the two holes that are i Y2"
apart. I nstall bolts, etc.,n sequence shown.

8. Attach bag to 4800-20 at remaining hole in bag.

9. Bates taillight complies with D.D.T. specs for
use as turn signal, stoplamp, taillamp or a com-
bination of any two. Black lead is for use as
-
,
taillamp, white lead is for turnlamp or stop-
lamp and green lead is for grounding. Rubber
grommet is furnished for passing leads thru bag
(drill 11/32" hole). Note: Make sure 'high'
filament of lamp (white lead) is not connected
to burn continuously.
1O. When remounting turn signals, remove original
stems and replace with Bates turn signal adapt-
ers and lockwasher. Use brackets 'F' and 'G'
as ill ustrated.

11. Carefully level and posttion bag, then tighten
all bolting.
12. To mount Bag Guards, attach to lower bolting
in brackets 4800-13 and 4800-20.
CAUTION .
Always balance loads evenly and place heavier items to front of
saddlebags. Consult owners manual for manufacturers recom-
mendation regarding allowable weights. Improper or over Ipading
may adversely afffCt handl ing.
