Utility distribution

Ground water development policy in the country.


The National Water Policy lays fallowing principles for assessment, development and management of ground water resources. Ground water resources should be periodically re-assessed Ground water resources development should not exceed limits of annual replenishibility. Conjunctive use of surface and ground water should be envisaged from project planning stage Ground water re-charge projects should be implemented from augmenting available supplies Ingress of seawater in to fresh water aquifer in coastal area should be prevented. Drinking water fallowed by irrigation, industry and other uses should be the water allocation priorities
