Created For Glory Isaiah 43:7 Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him." Chosen For Glory 1 Peter 2:9-12 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-12 (cont.) 11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. Look for Encounters with God A United People We covenant ourselves to be a united people, joined to one another and to the One Body of all believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and committed to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Unity Definition: The state or quality of being one; singleness; of being in one accord; in harmony; having constancy of purpose or action. Unity is Biblical Philippians 1:27 That you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. Unity is Biblical 1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. Unity is Visible John 17:21 That they all may be one, …, that the world may believe that You sent Me. Safety in Unity Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Safety in Unity Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (cont) 11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Unity Is Powerful Genesis 11:1- 9 1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. Unity Is Powerful Genesis 11:1- 9 (cont.) 4 And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." 5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. Unity Is Powerful Genesis 11:1- 9 (cont.) 6 And the Lord said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." Unity Is Powerful Genesis 11:1- 9 (cont.) 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. Efficiency of Unity Protection of Unity Strength of Unity Chosen by God to be His people - Created to glorify God as a UNITED people.
