This poll intends to identify:
1 Public awareness of the US President's visit to Egypt.

2
Public insight about the US President's speech.

3 Public input about the impact of the visit on the

relations between the US and both Egypt and
Muslim world.

1 Poll on the US President 's Visit to Egypt

Methodology
A uni-stage stratified sample was designed covering adults (18+) in Egyptian
households having landline telephones nationwide . Relative weights were used to
represent adults according to their actual representation in the society, and according to
certain demographic characteristics.
Data was collected through telephone interviews on 5th - 6th June 2009. Telephone
interviews were conducted in morning (11am- 4 pm), and evening shifts (4.30 pm –
8.30 pm).
Number of actual responses came to 1721, and the refusal rate reached 9%.
Statistical data processing was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social
Science (SPSS), in addition to the qualitative analysis of the open-ended questions.
According to the results of the poll, the sampling error was calculated at 95%
confidence rate, and therefore the sampling error for this poll equals ± 1.9%.
