President of IRCS at National level is President of India
President of IRCS at State level is Governor of the State President of IRCS at District level is District Collector

The Organization
In the princely state of Hyderabad, under the rule of the Nizams, the Red Cross Society was established in 1920 in a small building in St. Marys road, Secunderabad as a child welfare center. The British Resident at Hyderabad was its President at that time. Indian Red Cross Society, A.P.State Branch has come into existence in the year 1956. His Excellency the Governor of Andhra Pradesh is the President of A.P. State Branch. Indian Red Cross Society, A.P. State Branch is having 23 District Branches and 243 District Sub-Branches. District Collector is the President for a District Branch. There is a District Secretary for each district who looks after the Red Cross activities and supports the Executive Committee and Management Committee.

Donors to Indian Red Cross are eligible for Tax exemption vide Min. of Finance, (Dept. of Revenue), GoI, vide notification F.No.V-27011/275/2009go(NAT.com) dated 19.03.2010.

There are 24 Red Cross Blood Banks in 20 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

There are 19 Red Cross operated Blood Banks in 19 districts of A.P. under RCH Programme of NRHM Scheme
There are 78 Red Cross operated Blood Storage Centers covering all the 23 districts of A.P. under RCH Programme of NRHM

VOLUNTARY HOME NURSING SERVICES


It is a unique project of IRCS-APSB, aim is to provide nursing care support for the aged and bed ridden patients. At present about 397 Home Nurses are working in twin cities. Home Nurses are provided from four institutions namely

DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME


Goal of the Program: To reduce community vulnerability towards different disasters and be prepared for better disaster response in disaster prone areas of Andhra Pradesh.

IRCS APSB is conducting 1 day first aid awareness programmes in factories / organizations / educational institutions
Statistics (June 2010 to January 2012) Number of Companies covered : 36 Number of Employees trained : 997 No of Schools / Colleges covered : 16 Number of Students trained :972 No of teachers trained :88 Expansion of First Aid Trainings 2-3 persons from each district to get them trained as master trainers as per the guidelines of IRCS-NHQ The master trainers will intern conduct First Aid trainings for volunteers in their respective districts
