INTRODUCTION
The project entitled LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is done to make the manual process easier by making it a computerized system for billing and maintaining book stock. This system helps the user to maintain the record of the library. The library maintains the member details, book details and issue details i.e. the book issued to the member, addition of member, deletion of member, addition of book, deletion of book, issuing a book etc has been shown in this project. Paper validations are set to avoid wrong entries. Security is an imported issue in this database because information stored in a database is very valuable and many time, very sensitive commodity. Data in a database used to be protected from abuse and should be protected from unauthorized access and update. To protect the database, we must take security measures at several levels:

HUMAN
User must be authorized carefully to be reduced the chance of any such user giving access to an intrude in exchange for a bribe or other favors.

OPERATING SYSTEM
No matter how secure the database system is, weakness in operating system may serve as a means of unauthorized access to the database.

DATABASE SYSTEM
Some database system uses may be authorized to access only a limited portion of the database. Other users may be allowed to issue queries, but may be forbidden to modify the data. It is responsibility of the database system to ensure that these authorization restrictions are violated.

SCHENE DEFINATION
The DDA creates the original database schema by writing a set of definition that is translated by the DDL complier to a set of tables that is stored permanently in the data dictionary.

This project shows the working of s/w package of library management system. This project works successfully & adding more controls & making this program look more sophisticated can enhance its working functionality. The main trait of a good system is the ability of the system to accommodate change and be in accordance to the user needs. While concluding the project we can say that this project is good solution for enhancing the working of the organization. The library management system is a project developed by studying the existing system. The drawbacks of the existing system were studied and they helped us to make the work at the office site more affective. Secondly, in Order to generate the final reports all the steps of database designing had to be meticulously followed. This has strengthened our understanding of the database design. Although the implementing stage is infecting the final step in the system development process, it by no means indicates the definitive end to the process. Evaluating and reviewing the system and its total effectiveness is to be performed throughput the entire life of the system.
