The flag of the USA


The flag of the United States of America consists of 13 equal horizontal stripes of red alternating with white, with a blue rectangle and 50 small, white, five-pointed stars. The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 U.S. states and the 13 stripes represent the original Thirteen Colonies that rebelled against the British crown and became the first states in the Union. Nicknames for the flag include "the Stars and Stripes", "Old Glory" etc. The colors also have some meanings in the flag. The color red is symbol of courage , enthusiasm, blood and life. Then the color blue represents the sky and symbolizes the respect for God . The white color in the USA flag on the other hand means the purity and peace .

Abraham Lincoln (1809 1865)


Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1861 until his assassination. During his term, he helped preserve the United States by leading the defeat of the secessionist Confederate States of America in the American Civil War. He introduced measures that resulted in the abolition of slavery, issuing his Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and promoting the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution in 1865.
