Objective is to understand the present Recruitment Strategies employed for freshers in the Industry. The Assignment is based on the Cold Calling conducted to find out the Present Industry Pattern.
Transition from college to corporate life is complex and intense. There are no lesson plans to follow and no DIY brochures. However, organizations are stepping in to ensure this shift is smooth. Outsourcing the human resource (HR) processes is the latest practice being followed by middle and large sized organizations. It is being witnessed across all the industries.
Recruitment process involves a systematic procedure from sourcing the candidates to arranging and conducting the interviews and requires many resources and time.
Sources Of Recruitment
Every organization has the option of choosing the candidates for its recruitment processes from two kinds of sources: internal and external sources.
SOURCES OF RECRUITMENT
Many organizations have started outsourcing its recruitment process i.e. transferring all or some part of its recruitment process to an external consultant providing the recruitment services. It is commonly known as RPO i.e. recruitment process outsourcing. India is estimated to be $2.5 billion and it is expected to grow at the annual rate of 30-40 per cent for the next couple of years.
According to the study conducted the main focus would be on the methods that are used by the companies in order to hire freshers. The methods of hiring are identified as Campus recruitment is a great way for companies to reach out to a pool of talented and qualified candidates. Campus drives which is further classified as Direct recruitment by companies where the companies come directly to the college campuses in order to hire the freshers. Drives conducted by Third party vendors where they conduct the initial rounds like aptitude tests on behalf of the companies. Further core/ technical rounds and final rounds are conducted by the company. Here the recruitment is not completely outsourced.
Walk in A walk-in interview is a job screening that happens without an appointment or scheduled meeting. They are common at career fairs and informal meet-and-greet sessions. Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO). : In this the entire recruitment process is outsourced by the companies to the third party vendors where the entire recruitment process is carried out. Online application: In this the third party vendors screens the applications for job and further if they match the requirements are forwarded to the companies. The companies further carry out the recruitment process.

main forms of hiring fresher's at HP is through walk in's and campus drives. The first level of hiring is based on campus recruitments. HP hires Hirepro to hire its freshers. 1. The main criteria's they look into a candidate are Strong basics-Unfortunately the expectations are not fulfilled by the candidates. 2. Programming Skills 3. Computer literacy They have been counseling sessions for colleges in order to connect the industry requirements.
The various forms of hiring at TESCO are Walk in Employee Referrals Campus Hiring Off shore Hiring Third party hiring Naukri.com and monster.com Here the basic expectations from a candidate is to have basic domain knowledge and process knowledge.

Hiring at Toyota Kirloskar is mainly through campus recruitments. Toyota does not have any third party vendors or recruitment outsourcing done. There are a lot of colleges in the rural Karnataka who are still lacking the facilities of placement cells. The companies prefer to recruit freshers through campus placements. They also employee third party vendors in order to hire the best talent available in the market. Also accounting the cost to the company. The colleges emphasis more on soft skills therefore there are a list of colleges which don not have the soft skill training programs giving an opportunity for FACE to visit the colleges that are identified.
