PC-1, Tian-Chi
Location: In the 4
th
intercostal space, 1 cun
lateral to the nipple, (5 cun lateral to the front
middle line.
Indications: Cough, dyspnea, Phlegm,
distention of the chest, mastitis.
Method: Puncture obliquely 0.5-0.8 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The fourth intercostal artery and
vein.
Innervation: The anterior cutaneous branch of
the fourth intercostal nerve; deeper, the
fourth intercostal nerve.
PC-2, Tian-Quan
Location : On the medial side of the arm, 2
cun below the anterior end of the axillary fold,
between the long and short heads of the
biceps muscle of the arm.
Indications: Precordial pain, distention of the
hypochondriac region, cough, pain in the thoracic
wall and medial portion of the upper arm.
Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The muscular branches of the
brachial artery and vein.
Innervation: The medial brachial cutaneous
nerve and the musculocutaneous nerve.

PC-3, Qu-Ze
Location: At the midpoint of the cubital
crease, on the ulnar side of the tendon of the
biceps muscle of the arm.

PC-4, Xi-Men
Location: On the palmar side of the forearm
and on the line connecting Quze(PC3) and
Daling(PC7), 5 cun above the crease of the
wrist.

Xi-cleft point
Indications: Precordial pain, palpitation, epistaxis,
hematemesis, hemoptysis, chest pain, furuncle,
epilepsy.
Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-1.0 cun,
Moxibustion is applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The median artery and vein;deeper ,the
anterior interosseous artery and vein.
Innervation: The medial antebrachial cutaneous nerve;
deeper,the median nerve; deepest ,the anterior
interosseous nerve.

PC-5, Jian-Shi
Location: On the palmar side of the forearm and
on the line connecting Quze(PC3) and
Daling(PC7), 3 cun above the crease of the wrist.

Jing-River point
Metal point

Indications: Precordial pain, palpitation, stomachache,
vomiting, fever, irritability, malaria, manic-depressive
psychosis, epilepsy, swelling of axillary region, contraction
of the elbow and arm.
Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-1.0 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.

Vasculature: The median artery and vein; deeper, the
anterior interosseous artery and vein.
Innervation: The medial and lateral antebrachial cutaneous
nerves, the palmar cutaneous branch of the median nerve;
deeper, the anterior interosseous nerve.


PC-6, Nei-Guan
Location: On the palmar side of the forearm
and on the line connecting Quze(PC3) and
Daling(PC7), 2 cun above the crease of the
wrist.

Indications: Precordial pain, palpitation, chest ditress, pain in
the hypochondriac region, vomiting and nausea, hiccup,
manic-depressive, psychosis, epilepsy, insomnia, fever,

Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun. Moxibustion is
applicable.

PC-7, Da-Ling
Location: At the midpoint of the crease of the
wrist, between the tendons of the long palmar
muscle and radial flexor muscle of the wrist.

Shu-Stream point
Yuan-Source point
Indications: Precordial pain, palpitation,
stomachache, vomiting, manic-depressive
psychosis, epilepsy, chest distress, pain in the
hypochondriac region, palpitation, insomnia,
irritability, ozostomia.
Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The palmar arterial and venous
network of the wrist.
Innervation: Deeper, the median nerve.
PC-8, Lao-Gong
Location: At the centre of the palm. between
the 2nd and 3rd metacarpal bones, but close
to the latter, and in the part touching the tip
of the middle finger
when a fist is made.
Ying-Spring point

Indications: Precordial pare, manic depressive
psychosis, epilepsy, aphthae, ozosromia, tinea
unguium, vomiting and nausea.
Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The Common palmar digital artery.
Innervation: The second common palmar digital
nerve of the median nerve.

PC-9, Zhong-Chong
Location: At the centre of the tip of the
middle finger.

Jin-Well point
Wood point
Indications: Precordial pain, irritability, coma, swelling
pain and stiffness of the tongue, fever, heat stroke.
convulsion, feverish sensation m the palms.
Method: Puncture superficially 0.1 inch or prick with a
three-edged needle to cause bleeding. Moxibustion is
applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The arterial and venous network formed
by the palmar digital proprial artery and vein.
Innervation: The palmar digital proprial nerve of the
median nerve.
