DECISION MAKING
• Decision making
is in art
DECISION MAKING
• A best or worst decision
will change the life
100%
• It has only two choices
either should say “ Yes “
or “ No “.
• More courage is
required to say No.
• If it is Yes when the Yes
is not possible, then the
life is not in our hand.
DECISION MAKING
Ten points to take NO decision
1. Others can not force to take
the decision against our
thoughts, feelings and the
characters. Because, we are
only responsible for our
decisions.
2. We can inform our decision
boldly. We need not give
explanation for our decision.
3. Why we have to involve in
other’s problem. This will
need unnecessary problem
and tension. Hence we can
say NO to other’s problem.
DECISION MAKING
4. We can change our decision
after some time ever after
said Yes.
5. Only we have to understand
that, we are only responsible
for our decision.
6. If the subject is not familiar
to us, we can say No, I do
not know anything.
7. Others influence, love and
mankind should not affect
our decision..
DECISION MAKING
8. There is no need to
have logic on our
decision, we can take
the decision, based on
our inner conscious.
9. We have 100% rights to
get about all
information connected
to the problem.
10. We can avoid the
decision making, when
it is not connected to us
.
DECISION MAKING
• We can take
other decision of
OK LET ME
SEE. The
decision can be
informed after
getting the
confidence on it.
DECISION MAKING
How to take the decision.
1. First we should know,
What is the problem?
What type of decision is
required for the
problem?
2. Collect the data related
to the problems.
3. List down all the results
connected to the
problems.
4. Analyze each result
about its merits and
demerits.
DECISION MAKING
5. Consult others about
our decision and
change our decision
according to the review.
6. Short down the result
based on the analyze
and consultation.
Check the short listed
decision will be
applicable for the
present condition /
social / law.
DECISION MAKING
7. Select any one of the
decision in the short
listed results. After
selecting any one
decision, we should not
have second thought on
it.
8. We have to strict on our
final decision. There
should not be second
thought on
implementation part.
DECISION MAKING
9. Start to follow the
decision and
proceed with the
decision still it the
problem gets solved.
10. Review the results
based on the
decision and change
according to it.
Different techniques followed in
decision making.
• SWOT
• Pareto’s principle
• PMI
• Grid analysis.
• Decision trees
SWOT
• Strength ( what is the positive impact
after the result)
• Weakness ( what is the negative impact
after the result)
• Opportunities( what are the possibilities
of happenings after the
result)
• Threats ( what type of the problem
has to be faced )
Pareto’s principle
• 80 : 20 Principle
Eg:
• 80% works are get completed by 20%
people
• 80% of the profit comes from 20%
customer.
• Using pareto’s principle give importance to
the high value for short time benefit and
take decision in a short time.
PMI
• P Plus
• M Minus
• I Interesting.
• Give marks to the each + decision , - decision
and for the expected results.
• Then add marks under each heading.
• Plus marks +5
• Minus marks -7
• Interesting +4
• Total +2
• Based on PIM marks for the each decision, the
final decision can be taken.
Grid analysis.
• Rate the marks 0 – 3
• Give marks for each decision.
• Based on the total marks. Take decision.
Grid analysis.

ACTIVITY DECISION I DECISION II DECISION III

A 3 3 2
B 1 3 2
C 2 3 3
D 3 1 1
E 1 2 1
TOTAL 10 12 9
Decision trees
• List down the problems for the each
activities
• Give solution for the each problems.
• Select the optimum and best decision.
Decision trees

• Write down the decision in each activity

P
DECISION MAKING
• We can take decision
after analyze for the
activities in our control.
• We have to accept the
things when it couldn’t
change by our self.
• Late correct decision will
not solve the problem and
it will worsen the
situation.
• Take correct decision in
time.
