History

Android Inc. was founded in October 2003 by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner,
Nick Sears, & Chris White in Palo Alto, California. It was originally meant to
be an advanced operating system for digital cameras but it was instead
developed into a smartphone operating system to compete with Symbian
and Windows Mobile.
Android Inc. was acquired by Google on Aug. 2005 for around $50 million.
The first android device is the HTC Dream. It was released on October 22,
2008. It had a sliding keyboard, 3.2 inch HVGA screen, a 3.2 megapixel
camera, and 256 MB of RAM.
