INTROUDUCTION ABOUT THE CASE
Alectek shoes is a manufacturer of popular shoes in
India. Its one of the oldest foot ware manufacturer .

It also exports considerable portions of the its
premium segments. Its has a workforce of over 11,000
employees.

But the HR policies are conventional and empirical.
According to them job hopping candidates are prone
to leave the organisation early.



HR People are instructed to eliminate the applicants with
poor track record of job stability , irrespective of their
levels of skills and abilities.

But the compensation packages are best in the industry,
so they never faced any problem in finding the required
numbers.

Recently the company developed a huge manufacturing
plant in the southern India to double its production
capacity.
They want to expand there business operations, but there
is a shortage of workforce . So they want to recruit
peoples.




The company goes for extensive advertisement campaign
to attract the best candidate.
But the candidates applied have a poor job stability
records, but they are now best suited for the required job.

Due to this the company is in dilemma, if candidates are
eliminated the company might not get sufficient no. of
candidates with required skills.

And if they selected them , the firm might face problems
of unanticipated and untimely employee dissertations and
work disturbance .
HR manager is clear about the situation and he asked for
the revisions in the HR policies.

He insisted to change the old HR policies and the
company design and develop effective career
development programmes for employees

And also on evolving plans for training these employees
continuously as a part of the skill enhancement exercise.

However management did not buy his arguments.
Question & Answer of the case
Q1. What is your opinion about the roles of recruitment
policy in the entire controversy?
ANS:- As we all know after the HRP phase comes
recruitment& selection. so its very important.
As in the case its mentioned the recruitment policy of
alectek shoes company was very rigid and stereotyped .
Company should do a careful job analysis, they should
clearly know the job description & job specification.
And according to this they should select the candidate and
identify the skills and talent required, irrespective of the
past record of the candidate



Q2:- If you are made the HR manager of alectek shoes,
what would be your suggestions to solve the problem?
ANS:- If we were the HR manager of alectek shoes our
suggestions would be following:-
1st would be the company should identify the problems
and change there approach of management.
Company should change there old and conventional
thinking, and be adaptive enough to new ideas and
suggestions.
Company should use MBO, And motivates there
employees by performance appraisals and effective career
development programmes. And should minimize
conflicts and grievances among the organisation to be
more efficient and effective.
Q3:-What more can the company do in terms of career
planning and development activities of the firm vis--vis
the employees attrition, besides the HR managers
suggestions?
ANS:-first is to know the problem behind attrition rate .
and employees should be provided with more good
working environment and should value there employees
and boost them.
Succession planning should be implemented to provide
employees options to up raise in status.

Performance appraisals should be made monthly , quarterly
or half-yearly basis.
Employees should be provided time to time training &
development to be competitive and more efficient.
Career planning development should be clear and
employees should know the options they have in
future.

counselling should be done on timely basis, just to
know the individual goals of the employee and letting
the employee know and to focus on the organisational
goal.

Company should try to be a bit employ centric, which
means they should think according to the employees
way.
