Adverbs are also called modifiers. They provide added
information to verbs, adjectives and even adverbs in a
sentence.

Jason is walking quickly to the field. (walking how quickly)

Tina is waving excitedly to her friends.
(waving..how excitedly)

He shouted quite angrily at the girls. (shouted howquite angrily )

Type of Adverbs
1. An Adverb of Manner tells you the way something happens. It answers
the questions How.

Examples:



*cleverly * rudely * politely

* shyly * happily * hardly

2. An Adverb of Place tells you the place something happens. It answers the
questions Where

Examples :

*up * there *everywhere

* down * somewhere *nearby

3. An Adverb of Time tells you the time something happens. It answers the
questions When

*now * immediately * before

* later * soon * after
4. An Adverb of Frequency tells you the rate at which something happens.
It answers the questions How often
Examples:






*seldom * always * daily * rarely

* often * never * weekly * sometimes
4. An Adverb of Degree ,like an adjective , tells you to what extent something
happens
There are three degrees of comparison:
