1.CONCEPT OF PUBLIC HEALTH


CARE
Public health refers to all organized measures (whether

public or private) to prevent disease, promote health, and


prolong life among the population as a whole. Its activities
aim to provide conditions in which people can be healthy
and focus on entire populations, not on individual patients
or diseases. Thus, public health is concerned with the
total system and not only the eradication of a particular
disease

2.COMPONENTS OF PHC
Innovation to develop the evidence base for action
a technical package of a limited number of high-priority, evidence-

based interventions that together will have a major impact;


effective performance management, especially through rigorous, real-

time monitoring, evaluation, and program improvement;


partnerships and coalitions with public- and private-sector

organizations;
communication of accurate and timely information to the health care

community, decision makers, and the public to effect behavior change


and engage civil society; and
Political commitment to obtain resources and support for effective

action.

3.PRINCIPLE OF HEALTH CARE


Equitable distribution of health care - Equal health care for all.

Community participation - Important for use the available

resources.
Health workforce development - Trained physician, nurses,

community health workers etc.


Appropriate technology - Refrigerators for vaccine storage.
Multi-sectional approach - Agriculture sector (food security),

education, communication, rural development etc.

4.LEVEL OF HEALTH CARE


Primary care - refers to the work of health professionals who act

as a first point of consultation for all patients within the health care
system such as physiotherapist.
Secondary care - the health care services provided by medical

specialists and other health professionals such as cardiologist.


Tertiary care - specialized consultative health care, usually

for inpatients and on referral from a primary or secondary health


professional, for advance medical treatment. Such as
neurosurgery, cardiac surgery etc.

5.PRESENT SITUATION OF HEALTH


CARE IN BANGLADESH
Health service delivery community clinics, adequate staffs,

logistic support
Health workforce nation wide medical collages, trained doctors,

nurses etc.
Health information health related information across the country.
Medical product, vaccine, technology local pharmaceuticals

providing good service.


Health financing government financing 60% of and rest of them

by international assistance.
