DEFINITION OF A QUANTITY SURVEYOR

►A Quantity Surveyor is a technical professional, who


scrutinizes drawings; works out quantities of different
items of work from drawings issued by architect and
other consultants for a construction project;
establishes their cost; prepares Bills of Quantities,
other biddings and contract documents; arranges for
their bids and review; advises on selection of
contractor; negotiates and settles with Contractor the
cost of variations; checks applications for payment
and prepares valuation; and settles construction
accounts.
