W hat have you learnt from this

activity?
From this activity, I found that recycled

paper can be made easily from old

newspaper. Nowadays, Newspapers fill
up our landfills every day and they
become useless. So, we can recycle
newspaper to produce new paper. It can
benefit both for humans and the earth.
Using recycled paper to make new
paper can reduces the number of trees
that are cut down, and conserving
natural resources. So, I aslo learnt
about the value of renewable resources

Rather than making crafts out of

expensive materials, I can recycle

newspapers to create interesting
crafts. I was appreciate that useless
things can recycle to produce useful
things. Through this activity, I also
know that the step to make a recycle
paper.

importance of reuse, reduce
and recycle of materials.

D iscuss how you can use this

activity in your teaching and
learning?
First of all, I will carry on the hand-on activity

in this topic. I will ask the student to collect

the old newspaper then ask them to make a
paper by using these newspaper. This
activity will carry on by two days because I
want the students to soak the paper pieces
overnight in a bowl of water. When soaking
the newspaper, teacher should make sure
that all are in wet condition. In the another
day, before starting the activity, I will explain
the process of recycle newspaper.

Giving a briefing before the activity

is important because to avoid any

mistake or dangerous evident will
happen. Through hands-on
activities, this can build up pupils
curiosity and interesting. At the
same time, pupils will more easily to
understand when they are involving
in such activity. This is because they
have to discover, observe and
proved the result of the experiment.

Learning by doing and observe is more

remember better than listening. Last, I

will show the Video about recycle paper
in industry to the class and then facilitate
a discussion. Furthermore, I will remind
them that we need to save forests and
our environment. Next, I will ask students
how many of them recycle materials at
home and ask them make a list on the
board of the materials they recycle.

W hat w as the role ofthe teacher in this

activity?
The role of teacher is as a facilitator

where he need to teach the pupils

and make sure students understand
the topic and activity that was
carrying on.

Teacher is acting as disseminator. Teacher not

only has to disseminate the knowledge to the

pupils but also have to guide them in their
learning process. After the lessons, the teacher
can create open-ended questions so as to
prove their really understanding to the content.
Besides, teacher can play a role as a moral
teacher to instill moral values about caring our
environment and save our valuable natural
resources, save energy, save our trees, create
less toxic bi-products, and help our overcrowded landfills
