CHILD LABOUR
The full-time employment of children who are
under a minimum legal age.
This practice is considered exploitative by many
international organizations and is illegal in many
countries.

ILO Defines Child Labour As;


The International Labour Organization (ILO)
defines child Labour as:
When a child is working during early age
He overworks or gives over time to Labour
He works due to the psychologically, socially,
and materialistic pressure
He becomes ready to Labour on a very low
pay.

CHILDLABOUR IN PAKISTAN
The volume of child labour in Pakistan
continues to rise; 70 per cent of child labour is
found in agriculture.
Child Labour between 5-14 years is prevalent
in Pakistan.
No latest data on child labour in Pakistan has
been compiled.
The last survey in 1996 figured out 3.3 million
child labourers in Pakistan, out of which 2.4
million (73 per cent) were boys and 0.9 million
(27 per cent) were girls.
Most of the child laborers are working in ruler
areas as compare to urban areas.

Pakistan.
In NWFP million child
laborers are working.

DAY AGAINST CHILDLABOUR


Pakistan celebrates June 12 as World Day against
Child Labour, along with the rest of the world.
They aim to eliminate child labour all over the world
by 2016.

The World Day against Child Labour was


celebrated in 2010 with the theme of "Go for The
Goal: End Child labour"

Labour Laws By Pakistan

The Constitution of Islamic


Republic of Pakistan states:
"No child below the age of
fourteen, shall be engaged in any
factory or mine or in any other
hazardous employment." Also,
"All forms of forced labour and
traffic in human beings is
prohibited."

Suggestion:
Most important steps required To Eliminate Childlabour are;
Provision of free and compulsory education.
Tackling barriers to girls education.
Ensuring that children have access to a school.
Providing education opportunities for children.
Tackling the worldwide shortage of teachers.
Enforcing laws on child labour.
Tackling poverty.
Raising public awareness to tackle child labour.

Conclusion
Pakistan is trying to eliminate the Childlabour
and its reasons, Pakistan has recently passed
laws about child labor but those laws are
universally ignored. Our government is not
interested in social issues like child labour. And
Factories Owners are violating the laws about
Childlabour. In Our country where corruption
is common and education is limited, Such
social activists are everyone's natural enemy.
