Introduction
After years of promises and publicity about this topic, the
solutions and IP voice services have begun to figure
prominently among the operators, enterprises and users.

The next generation networks (NGN - "Next Generation

Networks") can be considered state of the art in
networking world.

NGN is characterized by diversity, given the huge number of

technologies, standards, devices, protocols, software and
suppliers involved.
Ensure service level agreements (SLA - "Service Level
Agreements")

NGN from a vertical to a

horizontal approach
Traditionally, vertically integrated networks have been
deployed to provide unique, such as telephony, data
services, etc.
The softswitch and IP technologies enable network
architecture approach using layers under which the
service execution, control and connectivity is integrated
horizontally across multiple access networks

The servers begin to provide extra network capabilities

like streaming, messaging, call control, etc.
Third parties can develop services and connect to
networks of operators using common development
languages like (eXtensible Markup Language) Java,
XML, etc. appear

A single common IP
multiservice
infrastructure can handle
all network services,
including both fixed and
mobile communications,
data and even TV

IMS (IP Multimedia

Subsystem)
IMS operators can combine the best of both worlds: quality
and interoperability of telecommunication world with fast and
innovative development of the Internet.

It only requires that computers use SIP protocol session (Session

Initation Protocol) which allows signaling and session
management.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Support the establishment of IP multimedia sessions.
2. Support a mechanism to negotiate quality of service (QoS).
3. Support interworking with the Internet and circuit-switched
networks.
4. Supporting roaming (roaming) between networks.
5. Supporting a strong control established by operators regarding
the services delivered to the user
end.
6. Support a rapid service creation without requiring
standardization.

serviceS in NGN
In accordance with NGN networks will be probably able to
perform a plenty of
types of network services, which include technologies and
services:
1. Specialized resource services (provision and management
of transcoders, multimedia and multipoint conferencing bridges,
media conversion units)
2. Processing and storage services (provision and
management of information storage for messaging, file servers,
terminal servers, OS platforms etc.)
2. Middleware services (brokering, security, licensing,
transactions, etc.)
3. Application specific services (business applications, eCommerce applications, supply-chain management applications,
interactive video games, etc.)
4. Content provision services that provide or broker
information content ( electronic training, information push
services...)
5. Interworking services for interactions with other types of
applications,
services, networks, protocols, or formats (EDI translation)

New network services, which will be providing in NGN background,

will rank:

1. Voice telephony NGNs will likely need to support various

existing voice
telephony services (Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, various AIN
features)
2. Voice gateway enables end user situated anywhere to
access anytime
information, news, weather information, share prices,
transactions etc.
3. Data services enable in the real-time establishment of
connectivity between endpoints, along with various value-added
features (bandwidth-ondemand, connection reliability / resilient
Switched Virtual Connections
[SVCs], and bandwidth management / call admission control).
4. Multimedia services allow multiple parties to interact using
voice, video,
and/or data. This allows customers to converse with each other
while
displaying visual information. It also allows for collaborative
computing and
groupware.
5. Virtual private networks (VPN's) - Voice VPNs improve the
interlocation

7. Unified messages enable delivering of voice message, e-mail, faxmail and

websites through common interface.
8. Information brokering involves advertising, finding and providing
information by means of connecting users and service providers.
9. E-commerce services include transactions, payment information
verifications, providing protection and trading possibilities, home banking
and home shopping business-to-business service, storage management
applications and knowledge management applications.
10. Call center services enable users to get to call center operator by
means of clicking on website. The call is directed to corresponding
operator, that is located everywhere.
11. Interactive gaming offers consumers a way to meet online and
establish interactive gaming sessions (e.g., video games).
12. Distributed Virtual Reality concerns with technologically made
presentations of real world, or the reality will be mediated using the way
of virtual session
13. Home Manager is a service, that is able to monitor home security-,
energy system, home entertainment system and other home applications
14. Emerging systems for instance home central accounting
department, selection of various service quality, setting up network
bands, new services in ecommerce, micro payments, universal access to
various networks..
