Development?
Rural Development is used to
denote the actions and initiatives
taken to improve the standard of
living in non-Urban neighborhoods,
countryside, and remote villages.
Local Development is a
multidimensional concept of change
which help improving quality of life,
supporting empowerment of ordinary
people, developing local assets,
overcoming market failures and
delivering grass-root development
projects.

What is Development?
Development generally means the
improvement of peoples lifestyles
through improved education,
incomes, skills development and
employment. Development also
means that people should have
decent housing, and that they should
have security within those houses.

What is Sustainable
Development?
Sustainable Development is the management and conservation of the natural
resources base, and institutional change in such a manner as to ensure the
attainment and continued satisfaction of human needs for present and future
generations.

The Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP)
a 6-year program (2013-2016) designed to establish the
government platform for modern, climate-smart, and marketoriented agri-fisher sector.
It focuses on expanding market access and improving
competitiveness while introducing reforms in the internal
operations of the Department of Agriculture
