Background
The increased activity of human life have significant impact to the
environment, especially to the air. The changes in air caused by contaminants
mixed in the air, which makes the air composition changes and passed its
threshold. The composition of air that passes through the threshold would have
a negative impact on human health because air is a major need for human

Main Problem

Relationship between the level of Air Pollution Standards Index (ISPU) to

patients of symptoms of acute respiratory infection (ISPA ) in Gambut District
.
To identify the level of quality of air in Gambut District.

Purpose of
Research

Benefit of
Research

To determine the cause of the increase in Figures of ISPU and

its influence to the number of people with ISPA in Gambut
District
1. to determine the factors that increase the rate of ISPU that have
an impact on human health
2. can be used as knowledge of the causes of the symptoms of
acute respiratory infection (ISPA)

Discussion
Based on the results of study in August-September 2015, in Gambut District ISPU
reached 171 and categorized as UNHEALTHY and based on data from sub-district
health centers there are 516 cases of ISPA in August - September 2015 .

The Influence of ISPU to ISPA patients

Results of the comparison of research between August-September showed

there are 45 cases of ISPU with 149 cases of ISPA in 2014, and 171 cases of
ISPU with 516 cases of ISPA in 2015. This could shows that there are an
increase in ISPA cases when the ISPU figures increased.

The Dust (TSP) derived from human activity can increase ISPU figures

Recommendation

Community should enhance public awareness by maintaining good

environment and good living quarters as well as paying more attention
to the health condition
