PAGES OF YOUR RESEARCH (815 PAGES)

CONSULT YOUR SUPERVISOR
BEFORE YOU FINALIZE YOUR
TOPIC.

SELECTING A TOPIC:
LITERATURE
Choose a topic, which deals with

1 novel, or 1 play, or 1 short story (2


maximum) or 1 long poem (or 2 short poems).
If you are working on a novel, OR a play,
choose 1 aspect of the novel like
CHARACTERS, SETTING, OR THEME, OR
SYMBOLISM
If you are working on a short story, you can
work on topics like Symbols, Themes, or
Characters, or even Elements of a Short Story.
If you are working on a poem or two poems,
then you can work on themes, poetic devices
(use of metaphor or alliteration, or simile)

Choose
LINGUISTICS/ELT
a topic that you can work on,
within 2 months. DO NOT CHOOSE A
VERY DIFFICULT TOPIC OR YOU WILL
HAVE A TOUGH TIME WITH YOUR
RESEARCH.
Choose a topic related to skills
Listening, Speaking, Reading
Writing or even to topics
Grammar,
Vocabulary,
Pronunciation.

You have to read resources before you
choose your topic. (OR) If your
supervisor suggests a topic, then you
must check the internet or the library
for resources.
When you find good resources, note
them down in detail (Author, Title,
Publisher, Place of Publication, Year).
Finally, you can decide which of the
resources is good and which can be
removed from the list or bibliography.

YOUR
ENTIRE
RESEARCH
SHOULD BE DOUBLE-SPACED. The
font should be TIMES NEW ROMAN.
Your bibliography should also be
DOUBLE-SPACED. If a particular
name of an internet source or book
runs to more than 1 line (2 or 3 lines),
then the second and the third line
should be indented 0.5 inches further.
This is called hanging indent.
