Question No 4.
Using the proprietary technologies, as well as technology
licensed from third parties, Amazon can implement numerous
features that simplify and improve the customer shopping
experience, enable third parties to sell on their platform, and
facilitate the fulfillment and customer service operations.
Their current strategy should be focused on development
efforts on continuous innovation by creating and enhancing
the specialized, proprietary software that should be unique to
their business, and to license or acquire commerciallydeveloped technology for other applications where available
and appropriate.
Amazon can continually invest in several areas of technology,
including seller platforms, web services, and digital initiatives.

Growth is necessary but not all the time justifiable. If growth comes in with higher brand value,
net income & market share and its manageable for the company, then its a viable option.
However, there are number of pitfalls a fast growing company might encounter:
Liquid Cash: All fast growing companiesmay run into plenty of unforeseen costs
(expenditures outpace sales)
Planning is paramount: A fast growing company must update its plans, or at least its cash
flow projections, several times during the year as significant deviations from what was
projected occur in ongoing sales and/or expenditures.
Profits out of sight: When a company is expanding quickly, it is very easy to become excited
about rapidly rising sales and lose track of profits.
Taxesincrease: Tax billwilllikely increase at a higher rate than anticipated because
itwillmove into a highertax bracket.
Bigger facilities: Increasing amount of space to house additional commodities or personnel.
Customer service slips: Fast growing companies can become so fixated on winning the next
customer that they forget about the ones who already paid

The end goal of Amazons

customer-centric
approach has to be
higher profit and ROI. If
there is no profit at the
end of the day, focusing
on strategies or goals
related
to
customer
issues alone will do
Amazon no good in the
long run. Its a profit
motive firm so financial
goals are of paramount
importance.

Layer its security: Start with firewalls, an essential aspect in stopping attackers before
they can breach your network and gain access to your critical information. Then, add extra
layers of security to the website and applications such as contact forms, login boxes and
search queries. These measures will help protect the site from application-level attacks like
SQL
KEEP ITS SYSTEM UP-TO-DATE: These include the updates of web server (usually done by
hosting provider), in addition to other software and plugins, such as Java, WordPress, Joomla,
ZenCart.
STAY PCI (data security standard) COMPLIANT:Helps reduce the extent of the damages
in case you ever get hacked. PCI compliance is not a one-off thing, Amazon must regularly
perform checks that they are not vulnerable to hacking attempts
Don't store sensitive data: Keep a minimal amount of data. There is no reason for Amazon
to store hundreds of thousands of records on its customers, especially credit card numbers,
expiration dates, card verification value etc.
Set up system alerts
suspicious transactions

for suspicious
coming through

activity: Set an alert notice for multiple and

from the same IP address.
