PERSISTENT PROBLEM

We rolled out a questionnaire among

students, and collected responses of a
sample of 46 individuals. (Click here to
view questionnaire)

Here are the observations from the survey

conducted.

The lighting is the campus is poor

especially in the pathway between
GR1 and MTR.
There have been several snake and
scorpion sightings and nearly
everyone has heard of it.

The pathway is illuminated by twenty

one 23-Watt CFL from the timings 6.30
pm to 10 pm.
Refer footnotes for the price of the bulbs

OUR SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION

We plan on installing LED Strips along the length of the pathway
which is 150 metres long,30 units of 5 metre long LED strip.
These LED lights are

Long lasting, life is 15 years

Water proof

Easy to dispose, no environmental damage caused during

disposal

More brighter than CFL bulbs (480 lumen per watt)

Requires no maintenance

Comparable wattage to CFL bulbs

These Led strips can ensure proper illumination during night time
and keep away the scorpions and snakes which thrive in the
darkness

CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

Setting up a structure made of steel bars which reads XIMB and erect it
besides the pathway between GR1 and MTR and decorate it with the LED
Strips.
And then invite students to stand behind the XIMB sign and pose and we will
take photos of it.

CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

Since it is a photo which has the colleges name on it, students

will not think twice to upload it to social media.

The students will be asked to put the caption as

#LIGHT_UP_XIMB and tag our Facebook page to it.

Naturally after seeing these photos and by word of mouth, more

students will be eager to take their pictures in front our XIMB
sign.

We will meanwhile educate them of the lighting problem in our

campus, the environmental damages caused by disposal of CFL ,
the long term benefits of switching over to LED and give them a
glimpse of the future where the entire pathway will be
illuminated by the LED strips
