CYBER BULLYING THROUGH

UNAUTHORIZED COPYING AND


SHOWING OF PRIVATE PHOTOS (NUDE
PHOTOS)

DEMOGRAPHICS:

The

victim (student A) is a
female 5th year student.
She has no disciplinary record in
the past, she is a transferee from
another state university and she
stays in a private boarding house
near the premises of the
university.

DEMOGRAPHICS

The

primary offender (Student B)


is also a female 5th year student
and a student leader. She has no
disciplinary record in the past.
She is a resident within the town
of the university and she stays
with her family.

DEMOGRAPHICS

All

the students ( four) involved


in this case belong to a one class
and one student organization
under their college.

FINDINGS
The

result of the investigation reveals


that, Student B and other students
involved in this case are found guilty.

The

Student Discipline Board of the


University recommended to the
University President that student B
and other students involved will be
suspended for two weeks.

FINDINGS

The basis for the recommendation is


stipulated in the student handbook. Since the
act of copying and showing private photos
without permission will fall under the Article 2
Section 2.4.6 which states that Disrespect in
words or in deed, which tends to put any
member of the studentry in ridicule
contempt.
The sanction for the first commission is
reprimand plus suspension for one to two
weeks.

BACKGROUND
The

main root of the case is the


unresolved issue between Student A and
Student B.
Student A allegedly spread negative
rumours about Student B. Student B failed
to report the case to their class adviser
for verification and observance of due
process. Instead, Student B copy and send
the picture of Student A to student C and
the rest is history.

DISCUSSION
On

April 4, 2016, the case was


referred by the class adviser of the
students involved to the Director of
Student Affairs and Services.
Because the reported case is
sensitive, the student discipline board
urgently convened and conducted
investigations and case/parents
conferences.

DISCUSSION

The significant findings are the following:


Since,

they belong to one student


organization, student A & B were
good friends before. Until, such
time that there are issues arisen to
their College that allegedly Student
A is making rumours about Student
B regarding her virginity.

DISCUSSION

The significant findings are the following:


Student

B decided to take
revenge because she was hurt
throughshowing private photos
of Student A to student C.
Student C also shows the
pictures to the other members of
their student organization.

DISCUSSION

The significant findings are the following:


Student

B stated that she copied the


nude picture of Student A without
the knowledge of Student D when
she shows it to her. According to
Student D, she only showed the
picture to comfort Student B
because allegedly Student A spread
negative rumours about Student B.

DISCUSSION

The significant findings are the following:


After showing the picture of Student A to Student
B, Student D deleted the picture. However,
Student B who was using the computer of Student
D at that time, restored the picture and copied it
before deleting it again, without the consent of
Student D (as she was asleep). The source of the
picture of student D is a former student of the
university who is a friend of Student A. The photo
was copied by a former student thru flask drive to
the Laptop of Student D.

A narrated that she found


out the spreading of her picture
through the other member of
their student organization.
According to her informant, the
photo was shown to them by
Student C as an attachment in his
messenger sent by Student B.

in order to observe due process.

process is strictly followed in


handling the case. Moreover,
guidance & counselling services
were provided to all the students
involved.

the investigation, the

observed/followed in handling
the case.
