They are factors that are controlled by the
organization.

The internal factors are:

Recruitment Policy
It specifies the objectives of recruitment and provides
framework for implementation of recruitment program.

The policy helps the HR to filter huge volume of


available candidate profiles for a vacancy.

In return there are factors affecting recruitment policy.

If organization thinks of expanding operations
and business, has to hire more personnel.

source of recruitment that includes less cost.

Expansion will lead to recruiting of more staff
for managing.

The availability of manpower within and
outside the organization is important
determinant.
Example: If demand of professionals is more
in a company but supply in the market is less.
Then, company will have to manage with
existing internal sources.

Employment conditions affected by location
where organization is located. Surplus of
manpower will attract more applicants.
Image of Organization
Organization with positive image attracts and
retains employees more. Image based on what
organization does in industry.
Political- Social- Legal Environment
Regulations such as government regulations have
impact on recruitment; example: prohibition of
discrimination. Union also decides some criteria.
External Factors
Unemployment Rate
When unemployment rate is high,
recruitment process is easier. Number of
applicants is high.

Competitors
Recruitment policies of some organizations
are adapted so as to compete with other
organization.
