STRADDLING BUS

Huge elevated public bus

Straddles two road lines

Carry 1200 passengers

Allow smaller vehicles to pass

under it

Taking no road space

Reduce traffic jams by 30%

Powered by municipal electricity

or solar power 4
CNTD...

This concept is introduced in China which is the worlds

largest polluter. 3 types of public transport systems are
used are,

1. Subway
2. Light rail train
3. BRT

5
SUBWAY

High cost

Long time to built

6
LIGHT RAIL TRAIN

Reconstruction of roads

Chances of accidents

7
BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT)

Takes more road

space

Pollution

noise

8
Next Generation Transit System

The model looks

like a subway or Powered by
light-rail train electricity and solar
bestriding the road energy
The bus can reduce Reduced the traffic
the traffic jams jams by 20%-30%.
20%-30%

9
Cost is about 500
4-4.5M high with two
levels passenger boat
Crores rupees to
on the upper level and build the bus and a
7 M in width while 40KM long path for
other vehicles lower it, approximately 7%
than 2M can go of metro system

10
Warning alarms are provided inside to
warn cars from getting too close to
the bus (radar scanning)

Cameras are fitted inside the tunnel

which is monitor on driver cabin

Large windows are provided to

avoid backward illusion,

11
Ultrasonic waves put forth from the end of the bus, that is to
keep those high cars or trucks away from entering the tunnel

12
13
Key steps involved in the implementation

Re - modelling of the road:

Laying Rails The rails will be laid on both sides of the road and the bus can run on the rails and save 30% energy.

14
Building stations
There are also two ways in dealing with station platform
1.load/unload through the sides
2.Using the built-in ladder so that passengers can go up and to the
overpass through the ceiling door.

15
POWER SUPPLY TO BUS
Straddle bus is completely powered by
1. Mrelay Charging
2. Solar power

MUNICIPAL ELECTRICITY

. The setting is called relay direct

current electrification
. Bus itself is electrical conductor
. Two rails built on top
. Allow charging post to run along
bus
. Next post on rail before earlier
leaves
16
SOLAR POWER

Use super capacitor

It can charge, discharge and

store electricity quickly

Charging done when bus

stops on station

Achieving zero toxic gas on

the process

Solar panels provided on

the stations

WHY IN INDIA?

India is second largest in population

Because of High population density India's major cities facing

traffic jams. 30% of traffic jams can be avoid by using straddle bus

As a developing nation India facing air pollution. Straddle bus can

prevent 2640 tons of carbon emissions that 40 buses emit annually

Fuel cost in India is high comparing with other nations. 860 tons of
fuel can be save by using straddle bus

Shortest construction life cycle 1 year to built 40kms

19
Conclusion
It runs above car and under overpass, saves road space.

It uses electric and solar power reduces the air pollution

It reduces up to 20-30 % of traffic jams

It is safe, efficient and has high capacity.

It is eco- friendly
