Question 1 In what ways does your media product

use, develop or challenge similar conventions of

media products and question 5- How did you attract
and address your audience?
With my music magazine, I ensured that I
stuck with traditional conventions in order
to give a convincing magazine which
would appeal to my target audience. My
magazine has a clear masthead and
includes various coverlines just as a
traditional magazine would. When
choosing what to include on my magazine,
I had to also consider my magazine genre
of Pop as it needed to appeal to my target
audience. I made my magazine bright and
colourful to appeal to my Pop style
however whilst targeting both males and
female, by making the magazine pink I
subverted gender norms and broke the

How did I attract and address my
audience?
In able for my magazine to be a success, I needed to
attract my target audience and interest them. I did this in
a number of ways throughout the creative process.
Mode of address In order to personalise the edition for
my audience, I used language such as You when
addressing them to make them feel involved
Colour scheme- Through conducting audience research,
I found that a pink/white colour scheme was in the best
interests of my target market and would be most
suitable for a pop magazine
Masthead- The masthead is bold and eye-catching as it
is bold font in comparison the pink background behind
it. This would make my magazine stand out when on
shelves and intrigue my audience to purchase it
