AVIATION

HISTORY
The aviation history began with the legend of Dedalo and
Icaro. It says that a king talked them that they made a
labyrinth in the medusa island and after that locked the
minotaur. They made it but they wanted go out, so Dedalo
made a wings with feather and beeswax; they could go out
but Icaro flew nearby sun and his wings burned, he fell
down on water and he died.
The box kite or kite

The box kite arose in ancient China around in the 1200 century
BC. These were used by chinese soldiers to sign some war
strategic points. Benjamin Franklin in june, 15 th 1752 utilised a
little kite with a key tied it only for studying the tunderks and
after that he invented the lightning rod
The Kong mings lintern

In the 300 century BC, the general Zhuge Liang designed an


aerostatic globe and it was used for scaring the enemy trops
and mongols. It use consist in ignite a flame in center of lintern
and after that, itll ascend. Why does this happen? because the
smoke generated inside tend to ascend
Leonardo Da Vinci

Probably the first person that dedicated seriously his life in a


machine that could fly was Leonardo Da Vinci. He draw
gliders, parachute and an ornithopter. He based in flight of
birds and he tried to manufacture a machine with wings
capable of flying but he never made them.
The Wright brothers

The Wrights made the first sustained, controlled, powered


heavier-than-air manned flight at south of Kitty Hawk, nort
Carolinain December, 17 th 1903. They flew around 60m on
Begatelle camp

Note: They made bicycles and the name of aircraft was

Santos Dumont

Alberto Santos Dumont was the first man that took off on
board of aircraft propelled by aeronautic engine. He flew in
Paris in October, 23th 1906 around of 60 meters high with his
aircraft named 14Bis. He gave his aircraft design to france
museum. he passed his last life days in Brazil in a state of
anguish with the result he killed himself.
Supersonic aircraft

Concorde:
It was a aircraft designed by United kingdom and France
between 1961-1968. it first fligth was march, 2th 1969 but april,
10th 2003 Airfrance and British Airways announced that they
remove the plane for the following reason: it maintenance
was expensive, the low number ofpassengers afterthe
accident inJuly, 25th 2000.
Modern aviation

There are two modern aircraft, the firsts: Airbus-380 with a


computered modern system and maximum capacity of 853
passengers. The second aircraft is: Boeing-747 with a
airworthiness simple system and a maximum capacity of 747
passengers, exactly because of that is it name
Futuristic aircraft

The NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)


is doing a solar aircraft. They say that it could work only
with sunlight and itll fly consecutive days. The purpose to
make this aircraft is to reduce the environment problems
and economic problems (HELIOS)
