1989 - Oct 1993 : Editor, Dateline India Syndicate


• Syndicated exclusive news stories and features to some of the leading newspapers
and magazines.

• During the Nov’1989 elections syndicated five exclusive stories from all over India, to
over 40 newspapers and magazines like Navbharat Times (Madhyan), Kashmir Times,
Sentinel (Gauhati), Madhyantar & Daily Midday (Bombay), Nagpur Times and Nai
Duniya (MP) and Public Asia.

1989 - Oct 1990 : Features Editor, Network Magazine
• Responsible for coordinating the editorial content and commissioning stories to staffers,
freelancers and photographers as well as layout and production of the magazine, which
besides selling in open market, was recognized as the in-flight magazine for Vayudoot
• Did a cover story on the lesser-known side of Sam Pitroda and used a photograph of
him playing tabla on the cover. The issue was a sell out and required reprinting.

1988 - April 1989 : Senior Correspondent, Sunday Mail


• Did several exclusive and special investigative stories on Bofors and Indira Gandhi
assassination trial among others.
• Many parliament questions were raised on my stories

1987 - Dec 1988 : Staff correspondent, Sunday Observer


• Was instrumental in several exclusive and investigative special stories.
• Broke the story about an Rs 800 Crore counter-trade deal with Bofors.
• Disguised myself as a pavement dweller on atleast two occasions to report on the life of
pavement dwellers on the streets of Delhi and those living in the night shelters during
New Year’s eve and Diwali.
• Conducted explosive interviews with former President Zail Singh and Kamlapati Tripathi,
which created ripples in the political circles.
• Many parliament questions were raised on my stories 3

• Was instrumental in several exclusive, investigative special stories and covering
important events like Rajiv Gandhi Assassination attempt (2 Oct’96), Sidharth
Hotel fire, Meerut riots etc.
• Did several series of special stories on crime, civil-aviation, urban development
and human rights etc.
• Many parliament questions were raised on my stories
