on just ten proverbs or sayings that Americans use all the time. They are not really commandments. Several of them are not even worded like commandments. They seem to be ordinary statements such as, Time is money. They have no religious or moral authority like the Ten Commandments of the Bible do for Jews and Christians. However, if you break any of these cultural commandments, most Americans will think you do not fit very well in America. SUCCESS??? SUCCESS Definition of Encarta 1. achievement of intention: the achievement of something planned or attempted 2. attainment of fame, wealth, or power: impressive achievement, especially the attainment of fame, wealth, or power 3. something that turns out well: something that turns out as planned or intended 4. somebody successful: somebody who is wealthy, famous, or powerful because of a record of achievement SUCCESS is probably the most praised thing in American life. It relates to so many other characteristics of American life---individualism, freedom, goal- setting, progress, experimenting, social mobility, making money, pragmatism (doing what works), and optimism ( expecting good things to happen). Americans want to make a success of themselves This is the American Dream which has attracted millions of immigrants and been taught to generations of American children. Everyone wants to be a success at something. If you do not think that way, you are considered a failure. It is almost impossible to criticize success. Example: 1. If an employee does something without properly consulting his supervisor, and as a result the company gets a big contract with a new customer, the employee will get much more praise than blame. The success of getting the new contract is more important than the failure to consult a superior. Sometimes people will even say cheating is justified if it brings success. Other people, however, may argue with success of that kind. HOW??? by Karim Jaude IDENTIFY YOUR LIFE VALUES. There is no satisfaction in a goal you meet if in meeting it you have bent or broken a life value. MAKE IT YOUR OWN GOAL. Your goals must be your own. FEW BUT INSPIRING. Set inspiring goals, but limit yourself to setting three short- term goals that are a little stretch, and as many long term goals as you want. GOALS SHOULD BE CLEAR, SPECIFIC, AND MEASURABLE. The more specific your goals, the more focused your mind becomes. SKIP THE HOW TOFOR NOW!! Setting big, specific, measurable and inspiring goals can be a scary matter. There is no need to know how to achieve the goal, wanting to achieve them matters a lot. A lot of people fail to achieve their goals in life because they tell themselves they dont know how. This is just an excuse for inaction. The truth is, when we focus on what we want with passion, the way to get there becomes evident. REVEAL YOUR GOALS. Tell people what your goal is and ask for help in reaching it. Successful people enjoy helping others reach their success. REWARD YOURSELF. When you hit a milestone along the way, reward yourself. Plan each milestone and your reward will help keep you focused. 1. Dont live your life to please others. 2. Dont depend on forces outside of yourself to get ahead. 3. Seek harmony and compassion in your business and personal life. 4. Get rid of backstabbers --- surround yourself only with people who will lift you higher. 5. Be nice. 6. Rid yourself of your addictions ---- whether they are food, alcohol, drugs or behavior habits. 7. Surround yourself with people who are as smart or smarter than you. 8. If money is your motivation, forget it. 9. Never hand over your power to someone else. 10. Be persistent in pursuing your dreams. HELEN KELLERs Success..

OBAMA and HIS SUCCESS MESSAGE One thing that you need to understand is that failure is an event, not a person. It doesnt define you as a loser for the rest of your life --- unless you let it. Failure happens to you --- it isnt who you are. Youre not a victim, but it also doesnt define you. So when it happens (notice I didnt say if), pick yourself up and get ready for the next event in your life. .by providing more value in smarter economical way by empowering more people who seek to empower their own lives. We or you or me will improve the lives of others and create new wealth in America and potentially the world. There is something strange in the very way we look upon success. A person is not supposed to exert effort at the expense of sanity. We ridicule a person who teaches himself how to think and label him Tasio, the philosopher. We warn persons not to learn too much lest they be like Jose Rizal who was executed at the Luneta in 1896. Assertiveness is frowned upon because it smacks of pride and ruthlessness. Success to the Filipino, must come naturally; it should not be induced or artificially contrived. One should not be successful at an early age because that would mean exertion and hard work. Success must come very late in life, if it is to come at all.
